Right now, I’m re-watching the video by Cinemassacre regarding a theoretical fan edit that may have been done by James Rolfe.
Has this actually been released yet, or is it okay if I release a cut based on more or less exactly what he outlines?
I’d love to see an edit of the two films together, but you’d probably have to release it thru private messages or a torrent tracker.
I watched that video about his edit and it sounded good… He made alot of good observations ad gave good reasons for why and how he changed the structure.
But and this is a small but he was essentially treating it as that it had to be 2 hours or there abouts which is fine constraits are good for creativity but it would also be interesting to look at what he loped off also as he does not regard any down side to cuttig anythig.
I thought it sounded well thought out though…
I’m still hoping to see a cut like it too.

I didn’t stay constrained to two hours, though. My edit is 172-minutes, but it otherwise follows the Cinemassacre video exactly.

Myself and another editor did something very similar to this on fanedit.org. It roughly follows the Cinemassacre video with a couple exceptions
