A boycott is the best way to show our disapproval. After all, whether Jimbo likes it or not, the SE wasn't supposed to be released on video, period. Wave after wave of SW fans, eager to see the films on the big screen in whatever form, gave Lucas the idea to release them in the first place. It was puplic ignorence then and it's puplic ignorence now. There are basically three camps.

Special Editionests - Prefer the Se. While some also like the O-OT, other dispise it as "inferior" and take perverse pleasure in tellin O-OTers that "it's dead".

O-OTers - the exact opposite. Believes that the untainted versions are the only true versions, though most don't mind the SE and would buy both.

The Ignorent Masses - The largest group. thousands of times in sze to the other two combined, their usual response to all of this is "There are TWO versions????????". People like my father couldn't tell which version they were watching anyway. And even if they can, they don't care.

That's it in a nutshell. In the end, the fate of SW is decided by people who see it as just another film. End of story.

Id say that Special Editionists outnumber Originaltrilogyists by a very tiny margin. I agree that ignorant masses are probably 90% of all Star Wars fans.
