I’ll make sure Project Threepio is on board with whatever you choose to do (the subtitles are close enough to sync without any modifications – but explicitly putting the name of your preservation in the documentation should help forestall any confusion on the matter)

I’m being constantly bombarded with requests from people to invite them to the SWT forum.

99.9% of the users making these requests have literally just signed up to OT.com and never posted or contributed anything to the discussions on this community.

As such if you are one of these people I’m just going to ignore your request.

I’ve been on here a while wondering how to get on those and I know better to annoy people for an invite. I think people hear about this stuff on reddit and decided to start seeking it out without realising what this community is all about.

I too am getting quite a number of invitation code requests from brand new users. If you are a first time user on these forums and have zero past history of investing into this community, you will not be given an invite code, and your PM will be ignored. No exceptions.

We are not members of this forum to see how much we can take for ourselves; we are here for what we can give back to the community and to each other and to make friends along the way. If all you want is a code to get “access” to something you want without investing the time to contribute and engage with this community, that isn’t fair to those of us who HAVE taken the time to do that.

I hate to be so hard-liner about this, but that is the way this community rolls.

Actually we’re in the middle of Empire and are hoping to have it out before Xmas in which case it’ll be NTSC GOUT synched to work with hairy_hen’s soundtrack.

If a newer version of hairy_hen’s soundtrack comes out post release then it’s easy enough to do another release that syncs with it.

This would be a blast if you all manage to finish it till Xmas. Nate, Williarob ,tn1, you are sent from heaven for this community.

Totally agree with nates and yours opinion about invites and participation.

It looks fantastic. Colors are so much better, and the image clarity is great. I can’t wait to see how the first two movies turn out. You guys are doing amazing work.

But we can’t turn back. Fear is their greatest defense. I doubt if the actual security there is any greater than it was on Aquilae or Sullust. And what there is is most likely directed towards a large-scale assault.

I currently have the 1.6 version of 4K83 and am downloading the 1.4 version to compare and see which version’s colors I like more, since 1.6 does look a bit toned down or flat in some aspects.

Generally, I like the colors to be more vibrant and I don’t really mind a bit of grain. For instance, the grain on 4K83 1.6 seems perfect to me. But the grain on 4K77 1.4 is a bit much, so I’m hoping the upcoming 2.0 version will fix that for me with a bit more DNR.

What version of Jedi would you guys recommend? 1.4, 1.3 or this Destiny edition?

If you like vibrant colours and minimal grain then Destiny is for you.

Yeah, it looks amazing on the screenshots. Awesome work!
I’ve been trying to find it all over the place, from usenet, private trackers to private mega forums, but it’s not available anywhere I could find. Could someone redirect me to place to get it or is it only available on thestarwarstrilogy forums?

I read this thread and I know I’m not an active member, though I’ve been reading here a lot for the great information and discussions about star wars, its history and film preservation. I don’t want to intrude on anyone like what Nate D said so it’s okay if it’s not possible to get it somewhere. Then I’ll just wait until it’s available somewhere else.

I can’t really figured it out the massive works you all made there. I was really impressed discovering this forum and I cannot wait more to have the opportunity to check your works. There’s any way to get an access or the possibility to get some vision on it? Don’t know if I need any access or code for SWT forum or I can get a link here. Hope the OT came to help me since I can’t wait more during quarantine to watch those works!
Thanks a lot folks.

I admit, I’m guilty of this. Stumbled across these forums while looking for a way to find one of the fan restorations out there and asked for a code right after joining. I’m usually more of a lurker, but I’ll try to chime in more often and check back in the future. Totally get where you’re coming from. 😃

Sounds great. Is it worth releasing without the grain added though? Or is the point to as closely match the original theatrical as close as possible? Does “despecialization” in this version keep any of the new stuff at all (besides higher res and color changes)? Is it shot by shot (timing) the same as original '83 film shown in theaters then? Been hoping to see 4k83, but might need to watch this instead. Do you feel this version is now superior to 4k83? (are there any reasons 4k83 would be better)

Nice work, appreciate the time put into this.

Lots of questions here that are answered in the first post of the thread.

Re grain, I regret even mentioning that there is added grain as grain is such a divisive topic.

The grain added is so subtle that if you werent looking for it you wouldn’t notice it. It’s there purely to make the 4k83 shots blend seamlessly with the Disney 4k shots. I’m tempted to remove mentioning it in the first post.

This is my preferred version. It is not “superior” to any other version as people’s tastes differ.

But if you were looking for a high quality theatrical construction with great colors akin to what Disney should have released then you will love Destiny.

Stotchy, how are TESB: TDE and SW: TDE coming along?

Thanks for the info, I’m new 😉. Appreciate the discussion. It totally makes sense when you have sources with and without filmgrain that you’d have to normalize them somehow… to match.

Hi there. Is there any cover artwork for this release at all please? Thank you

How does this compare with OTD83?
