HL, do you have a Hex editor? I know than when I've turned my 2-channel recording into a 6-channel recording, I have to go in and change the WAV header. It sounds to me like the header information might be messed up.
Do the individual wav files sound okay by themselves? Do you have a Hex editor? After you edited your files, did you save them at 44Khz or 48 Khz?
