There are attachments for digital cameras to take digital photos of slides, however up against proper scanners the picture quality doesn't bode well: slide transfer examples/comparisons

If you could get the film to play at 25fps perfectly it might be worth trying a PAL DV camcorder pointed at a projected screen..
