BTW, do you mind changing your avatar? I'd hate to be browsing OT.com at school and someone walk by and see a pair of tits.

Ok guys - I have got a sample capture up on Demonoid - http://www.demonoid.com/torrents/download/HTTP/189313/RS3Dopeningvideo1010334.Demonoid.com.torrent

Im pretty pleased with how well it has turned out. How do you want to do these DVD's? I thought it would be a good idea if the people interested made one DVD each with the same specs and menu's etc. That way we could get a full set alot quicker with a shared effort.

What do you think?

I've got a full (3.something gig) DVD of cutscenes and gameplay of various levels from all 3 rogue squadron games, using just internet sources.

If someone tells me how I can uplaod a torrent somewhere.

Won't let me register with demonoid sorry

If you PM me your email address ill send them to you or meet you on msn or something. The clips I have are in full DVD resolution. Ill keep on collecting the clips until they are finished.

What do you guys think of the shared project idea? If the people interested each captured all of the scenes from a specific game, we could get people who can make decent covers to make templates for us. Then someone else could create a set of menu templates for us all to use. Within a few weeks we could end up with a set of DVD's covering all of the games.

The shared project could work, however I don't know how many people have the capability to do captures. I know I don't yet unfortunatly.

Oh. Just remembered Wing Commander isn't Star Wars. I reckon you guys should throw it in anyway, it's got Mark Hamill in it.

I did look at Shadows of the Empire, though the cutscenes don't seem worth geting just yet unless we are going to make a complete set covering all of the games. I pretty much have all of the Star Wars games that have come out, so this could be quite a good project to take on myself, although it would be a huge bonus if we all pulled in on it.

I have finished Rogue Squadron 1, and all of the clips are ready to go. I had to get most of them from the original N64 cartridge, as my pc version seemed to crash after playing a few scenes.

Ill continue to collect up the scenes until I know if others are likely to join the project. Anybody good at DVD cover design or DVD Menu's?

If so, and you would like to help, PM me and ill get back to you.

The guy doing this is actually re-editing the game into 3 2hr movies complete with dubbed main character. He also seem's to have dropped off teh face of the planet. Shame too, sounded like it was gonna be quite cool

99% of announced projects on TFN Forum never get made - People get good ideas but never see them through, which is a shame but understandable as it takes a hell of alot of time and effort to make a decent film - Im 3 years into mine, and its only just coming to fruitition.

If anybody knows of a way to access all of the cutscenes from either RS2 or 3 on the Gamecube, please let me know.

How exactly can the cutscenes from the games (N64, PS2, etc.) be captured? What is the method for this?

The same as capturing any other video source - PC capture card or DVD writer etc.

An emulator and the program FRAPS could do it better.

I don't know anything about emulators, but I'd definitely love to see the cut scenes from "The Clone Wars" .

In the next few days I'll try to capture the sequences from Rogue Suqadron I on my PC. The quality will probably be better than a capture from the console version .

I dont think that there are any working emulators for either of these consoles.

The RS1 clips I have from the N64 are pretty good quality - wont be long before I start the design of the DVD, I am going to make it as simillar to the origianl game menu's as I can.

Has everybody lost interest in this?
I am in the final stages of completing the first DVD in the set that covers the Rogue Squadron games, and its turning out very well. The only thing I am having difficulty with is the cutscenes from RS 2&3. I cant find a cheat to play all of them.
I did download a Gamecube rom of the game, managed to extract the movies, but couldn't find anything that could play them.
If anybody has any ideas, please let me know, as these will probably end up being left out, as its far too time consuming to play both games from start to finish.
Cheers,
Neil

P.S I got a Pm on Demonoid from someone asking me to re-upload the original clip I put on there, but couldn't reply to them. So if its any of you, PM me on here.

I dont have, and I dont think a Gamecube emulator exists.
I did try RAD video tools, but it wouldnt open the .movie files that were in the game.

I am currently recording myself playing the games to get the cutscenes, Ill see how long this takes, but if anybody comes up with anything, please let me know.
Many thanks,
Neil

OK, guys, I found a site where you can download most of the cutscenes for SOTE. They were taken from the PC version:

SOTE Trailers.

Oh, what a DUMB I am! I know this site for a long now, and haven't even noticed the "FanMovies" sections!
Anyway, thanks Adam!

Concerning the SW Games Cutscenes project, I'm still interested in it. The problem is that I have to buy a DVDrecorder and a VideoInput for my Mac, if I have the money....But I'll soon test with my father's video camera which has a video-in plug, in which I'll connect the video-out of my videogame consoles (PSX, PS2 and GC). I think it could work, but I'm not sure of the quality.

In the same kind of project, I want to make "Lord of the Rings" games DVDs. "The Two Towers" for the begining. I'll capture the entire game, played by a hardcore-gamer (my brother!). It could be interesting, cause this game is very "cinematic" style (dynamic camera, good angles,...), and is not very long.

So, we'll see, and....may the Force be with me in that project....and all those who will do the same!

EDIT: NeilB, could it be possible you make your .movie files (a small one) available? Someone will maybe be able to make something with it, no?
