???

AFAIK Conan was announced as Extended Edition with about Four minutes unseen material for its US BD Release. But seems that this is obsolete…

I have it fixed now, and it sounds MUCH better, but I used the FOX extended version NOT the US Universal release, so if you end up getting any of the FOX releases I can send you links for that version, I have Dolby Digital 5.1(not sure why anyone would want this LOL, but did one up anyways) DTS-HD MA 5.1, and a NEW DTS-HD MA 2.0 Isolated Score I did as well, and so far the feedback has been great, but have not heard back from everyone yet.

I am now onto fixing yet another Blu-ray release, it seems from ALL I have read and seen that Forgotten Films version of Night of The Living Dead is hands down the best "video" quality out there, less cropped, and much cleaner\nicer image, but it is missing like 30 seconds right at the 28 min mark where Barbara says it is hot in here, well I have found a great source for that missing section, and I am also removing the FF DD audio and replacing it with DTS-HD MA 2.0, now I am going to try and remux my new "fixed" video and the new audio track into the FF BD Structure to try and retain the Menu's and such, this movie looks way better than I thought it would on Blu LOL, I can't wait to test out my new and improved version though, I just hope I can keep the menu's and all, but if not, a movie only will be fine.

So I've sampled the affected scenes a few times and, I've gotta say, the results are seamless!

Outstanding work, DJ. I am in your debt! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Care to share any anecdotes on how you managed to achieve such a feat?

P.S. I am also interested in your NOTLD project and would love to follow your progress (though I suspect it wouldn't be so easy to share that one).

Thanks Griff, there does not seem to be any interest in the Conan project or the NOTLD project, so what I will do is contact you by PM and let you know how it worked out, should be able to test NOTLD today after the Race, this is my first 1080p encode since way back when I did my own custom Star Wars Saga BD Set.

OH, and I am really glad you liked the new audio, this was a bitch to do, and took a few attempts before I got it to what it is now, a member at blu-ray.com was VERY helpful in this, so a BIG thanks to him, as well as our own Adywan, he told me about something that was very instrumental in this as well, so a HUGE thanks to him too.

Thanks for your interest, watch for PM's.

Oh, as soon as I got Conan Blurays, I would like to get the Audio Streams. But at the moment, I am still waiting, if some German BD comes along. And at the moment I am low on money to import them now. I really loved the Conan movie, and the Score is awesome.

And because of missing some real great Audio Equipment, I didn't ask for testlistenings. It would been like showing someone a HD Clip on a old monochrome TV. ;)

I am not watching NOTLD that often, even if its still great, so I am at the moment fine with the normal german BD...

Well I was able to fix the missing 30+ second part easy enough, but unfortunately I could not use the DTS-HD MA 2.0 audio and keep the retail BD structure, somewhere in the BD structure it must tell what everything is(I am guessing the .mpls file) damn I wish I knew where it was, seems like you could edit or modify it to accept whatever, but maybe not LOL.

I was however able to extract the lossless wav files from the HD audio and encode a new DD 2.0 track at the same bitrate as the existing and just swap it out, so long story short, it is done, the video is fixed, and the retail BD structure is fully intact, complete with warnings, menu, slideshow, etc.

I have to admit LOL, I REALLY like my new DTS-HD MA 5.1 track for Conan, I have watched this movie like 5 times already just to listen to the cool ass score, plus it is a GREAT movie, at least to me anyways, or I would not have bought this baby a few years a go from Thaxted England, it is all hand forged, hand etched, this thing is a work of art!

Nice replica! That's even better than The Great Sword.

That's good news on NOTLD. I don't think sharing 25GB (or more) is exactly feasible, however, or I'd be all over it. I don't s'pose you know of any screenshots of the Forgotten Films release lurking about online, do you?

But back to CONAN: unfortunately your audio track(s) can't be synced to the local Aussie version since its the same as the Euro disc, defaults to the censored UK version and uses seamless branching to do so. Looks like I'll have to get the HK release before I can enjoy your efforts in full.

I'm appalled that Fox lazily foisted that censored version upon us, even though there are (laborious) workarounds...

Can't you rip the uncut video stream with eac3to, and build a usable mkv or BD structure with a merging tool? AFAIK the HK disc is the same as the UK with the same censoring, if player has normal English setting. But I may be wrong on that....

Yes that is right, you are going to have to rip the uncut version and then ALL files will sync to it, you can't leave it "as is" because it is in chunks on the BD, I really hate when they do that but I guess they have to because of the censoring in some parts LOL, and you do not have the US Universal version right? so you have the FOX version, so it will work, no doubts, because the HK FOX version is exactly the same.

You could also use Tsmuxer to do this, just open the correct mpls(look at the run time) and demux the video portion(but before you close it, go to the Blu-ray tab and copy and paste the chapters) then once finished, open Tsmuxer again and add the video in that you just demuxed, then the new DTS-HD MA 5.1 track and then add the new DTS-HD MA 2.0 Iso score track, I also added the commentary because it is just hilarious as hell LOL, then go to the Blu-ray tab again, click on custom chapters, then paste back in the chapters from the retail BD, then mux, wallah, a new BD with all the new tracks and the chapters in the same position as the retail, and ALL in 100% sync!

1 more thing though, if you are needing to burn a new BD, and need it to be in BD25 size, then use a KICK ASS program called BD-Rebuilder, it is free, and it will take the new BD you just made and re-encode it to fit an a BD25, it won't take long because it is not that much bigger, and you won't lose any video quality, I see NO difference between my retail and my new.

hope this helps, if you need anymore help, just ask away.

OH, and LOL, that Great Sword is UGLY, I love my Conan Atlantean Sword, and it is real, and really sharp, and really heavy, I have to oil it regularly, my second favorite swords are my Twinkle and Icing Death swords, followed by my Ninja Sword, LOL I love blades!

Not sure if anyone cares, but I have decided to make a fixed track for the US Universal release as well, don't really want to alienate them LOL, not everyone imports.

Thanks for the advice, DJ.

So the HK disc is the same as the Euro/Australian disc?

I will give the remuxing a go very soon.

P.S. My player will play back BD ISO/folders so I thankfully won't have to re-encode.

OK, for anyone that has the US Universal version, I have a new DTS-HD MA 5.1 track ready for that now, let me know if interested.

Is anyone able to share the redone audio for the extended cut and / or the US Universal version?

I know it’s been years since this thread was replied on but the Prime version of the movie in the US is in fact the US theatrical version (the BD was the international cut) and its audio is mono, I spot checked and the choir is present in the opening raid scene, meaning it’s the most faithful version currently available
