I’m not a fan of Rey’s new Palpatine lineage (I really liked Rey Nobody) but I don’t think the common complaint that it’s a copy of Luke’s lineage twist is valid.

Luke struggles with learning his dark heritage, but overcomes it and helps Anakin redeem himself

Rey struggles with learning her dark heritage, but overcomes it and ends Palpatine permanently, then redeeming the bloodline by taking on the Skywalker name

I think there’s a lot of nice stuff that comes out of Rey Palpatine too. Things like how Palpatine tried to create a dyad of darkness with Anakin but couldn’t, and then their grandchild form a dyad of light. Or how Palpatine took a Skywalker’s name away when they chose the dark, and later a Palpatine took the Skywalker name when they chose the light.

FWIW I really liked Rey Nobody but would’ve been cool with Rey Kenobi. I love that she takes the Skywalker name tho
