I have a few updates. First, I found a better way to get the subtitles to fade in and out. It just so happens that all I needed to do was in this 1-minute video:

So with a few minor adjustments, I’ve pretty much gotten the subtitles finished. I even got the stroke back to 3 by switching from the title text to the body text, which has all the fancy features of the subtitles, but with the ability to fade in and out. (The title does not.)

I’m also nearing the end of my training. I’m halfway through the color grading lesson, and I only have to get through part 2 of sound editing after that. In fact, I already started the process by editing audio channel 3, which contains most of the dialogue and sound effects. I kinda wish the audio didn’t go quieter whenever I delete an annoying sound effect, but I don’t think that’s fixable, and I suppose it’s better than hearing Anakin saying “Whoah!” after Qui-Gon picks him up.

The only two things I still need to do are video transitions and the opening crawl. The video transitions should be an easy fix if this video is telling the truth:

However, the opening crawl is still a headache inducing work in progress. I’m sending a PM to Jackpumpkinhead to get version 2.0 of the opening crawl for Blender, since it supposedly has everything (A long time ago…, the logo, everything being timed correctly, etc.), which will make getting it on to resolve much less of a chore.
