Not sure how I missed this thread, but the posts re: tweaks sound great. I’d love the links to both the Palps and non-pals 1080p versions too if possible. That cut shuttle scene looks great.

dgraham,
Thank you so much for sharing that story. It’s really great to hear when these edits are shared with family and across generations. It’s one of the things that makes Star Wars special, and it’s a testament to this community, whose combined efforts created this and so many unique edits across the site!

I liked your palp version very much. Nice job. Do you have any further ideas or are you finished with this edit?
Could you send me a PM of the Palpatine version please? Sounds very interesting. Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to give you my review on the Palpatine version ——
Great work. I really, really like the hints throughout and it helps connect to Episode IX so much more. I think my favorite additions are the radio broadcast at the end and Palpatine’s laugh in the Luke/Ben flashback. Watching this, followed by The Rise of Skywalker, feels so much more natural now.
My only feedback, and I’d be happy to hear your thoughts on it, is for Snoke’s “Sith eyes” / yellow eyes moment. I think it’s a great idea, though it’s my opinion that his eyes are just not bright enough. They almost look like they’re just lit up because his robe is now being reflected from the light coming off of the lightsaber.
I wouldn’t have even noticed if I hadn’t read the change log. I’d like to see them brighter, more Sith-like.
Or, and this would be a more dramatic change, but one that would also work: when Snoke uses the Force to push and hold Rey up in the air, Palpatine’s theme starts playing, and there’s a close up on Snoke’s eyes. That would be a great place to revealing his eyes to transition to yellow as he tortures her.
That’s my only feedback for now. Great, great work.

Hey ziggy, thanks for taking a look and for your feedback! It’s great to hear!
I think your ideas make a lot of sense, and I can hear the stronger cue of the Palpatine theme from Return of the Jedi as Rey is suspended in mid-air.
I think with this scene, which had some iterations of the eyes, we decided to keep it subtle so as to not distract from the main action. We just wanted to leave hints or breadcrumbs to be found later, saving the larger reveal for the ending scene with Kylo-Ren.
Unfortunately, I’ve become extremely busy lately for various reasons, and I don’t have any immediate plans to dig back into this project. If I do, however, your suggestions are worth considering for sure!
I’m really curious to see this cut, I hope I’m not too late in requesting a PM for your Palpy version.
I would like the high quality palatine version, if you still send them 😃

Can I please have a link as well? I’ve been reading about all the cuts I can find, and this one looks like the best. I’m okay with TFA and TROS, so I just want a good version of TLJ to binge the series with.
