Well, while on the subject of politcially themed books, a movie of "How to Talk to a Liberal (But only if you Must)" would be friggn' hilarious.

Yeah, only if it has a deleted scene with a threesome between Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity!

Books that should be films:

Van Diesel IS the Pettit Prince in the action-packed adaptation of Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince! He came from outer space to kick some ass, and finds perils and exciting adventure in the desert, along with his aviator friend - played by Jackie Chan - who draws him a lamb in a box and destroy a drug cartel operation! Rated R.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

All Lord of the Rings-related books should be made into films.

I wouldn't mind having a live action adaptation of "The Hobbit".
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

The Bible. All of it. A trilogy, every movie being 4 hours long.

Like the Lord of the Rings films? If you ask me, it should be two really long films.

The Holy Bible, Vol. One: THE OLD TESTAMENT

See the CREATION AND FALL OF MAN!
See the JEWS ESCAPE FROM EGYPT!
See THE TEMPLE OF SOLOMON!
See JONAS AND THE WHALE!
See SAMSON AND DELILAH!
See THE PROPHETS MAKING PROPHECIES!

Running Time: 6 hours. Extended Edition (featuring The Book of Job, The Book of Jude, and more!) Running Time: 9 hours

And make sure you don't miss The Holy Bible, Vol. 2: THE NEW TESTAMENT

I don't know about films i'd personally make, but i have a list of tons i'd love to see.

Remaking all of Ian Flemings bond novels so they more closely represent the books, than the films.

Star wars episodes 7-9 ( i know no such books exist, but the treatments are in a lucasfilm vault no mater what lucas may say to the contrary)

The Hobbit and the silmarillion by j.r.r. tolkien.

Probalbly won't be done anytime soon, but i'd like a lord of the rings more true to the books.

The wheel of time series and sword of truth series, the landover series and shannara series. Word and void series. all of the narnia books, and frank baum oz books. The martian chronicles by edgar rice burroughs of John carter of mars. A true to the novel tarzan film. Beowulf based on tolkien's translations. Good film versions of the iliad and the odyssey, and the epic of gilgamesh. A film faithfull flash gordon to the original strip by alexander raymond. The new gods by jack kirby. Willow chronicles of the shadow war trilogy. Lucasfilm's alien chronicles. Tim zahn's star wars novels. Jedi academy trilogy and dark empire and new jedi order. George r.r. martins a song of fire and ice series. Isaac asimovs foundation trilogy, empire trilogy and I, robot based on the book(not that crapfest action film with will smith) THe entire dune series, kevin anderson's chronicles of seven stars saga, The entire lensman and skylark series by e.e. doc smith. Michael Moorcock's mutiverse of the eternal champion, fafryd and the grey mouser saga. The Ulic Qel Droma saga from tales of the jedi series. Al williamson's rendition of star wars. I even would'nt mind seeing live action versions of metal gear, final fantasy, and zelda game franchises. Could you imagine a final fantasy VI movie or final fantasy VII live action. And and Neon Genesis Evangelion, and ghost in the shell. Akira would make an awesome live action movie.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

speaking of anime the movie i really wanted to see but never will was the space battleship yamato rebirth film set after final yamato. Nishizaki and Matsumoto will probalbly never work together again. They both have their own space battleship yamato (starblazers series) on the boards. I am totally glad that the disney ruination never happened with ben affleck and the u.s.s. arizona being dug up and rechristened argo, i mean they totally ruined tarzan. Can't stand disney films, they ripped off kimba the white lion for the lion king. the only money they are really making is from destributed films of other people. Like studio ghibli and miyazki films, and pixar films. Hayao Miyazaki films are way better than almost 100% of the american films out there, and japan directors can't touch him.

speaking of fahrenheit 451 by bradbury, i believe that fahrenheit 911 by michael moore was a riff on that title.

It was. In fact, Ray Bradbury actually tried to trake legal action toward Moore when it was released.

cause multiple people have said hobbit and similarian.

isnt the hobbit actually 'in the works' or being talked about? I thought i heard Jackson was doing this after King Kong? or is that just a rumor?

similarian, how the heck will this be made into a movie? I havent read it, but from my understanding it is a) a very hard (not easy to get into type thing) read b) basically a history of middle earth

however i do think i heard it has a lots of shorter/little stories in it since it is a history, so maybe a tv mini series type thing could be made where each episode is one of the stories. but seriously, from what ive heard of this (want to read it but like i said heard its hard to get into, my one friend said only way he could 'read' it was getting the audio book which ive been trying to track down but local library doesnt have it) it wouldnt make a good book, be kinda like making the appencies of LOTR into a movie.

Why Anakin really turned to the dark side:
"Anakin, You're father I am" - Yoda
"No. No. That's not true! That's impossible!" - Anakin

Yeah, with the hobbit, Jackson said he was waiting to secure the rights to create a film version of it. He said expects it to be produced in about 3-4 years.
