The beta forums are on a separate standalone server, which is where we'll be doing our testing. Once the forum is considered good enough for live use, the entire site will be moved to that server and the domain redirected to the new IP address. Then I'll begin development on the rest of the site so we can start running articles, comics, contests, reviews, etc.
