The Wizard of Mars (1965) - Theatrical Cut Reconstruction and Restoration (WIP)

So I’ve recently been looking into this film called “The Wizard of Mars” and let me tell you, this film has little to no information on it other than some quick facts about the people who were involved in the making of it.

I’m wondering if anyone has any information on it or if any prints or transfers of the original “theatrical” cut still exist.

The highest quality print I could find is from some crappy DVD release that seemed to have taken the 1988 “Horrors of the Red Planet” release of the film and slapped it on a disc.

Any help in finding and possibly restoring this film would be greatly appreciated.

So I just found this on YouTube…

I can tell by the opening that it is the theatrical cut of the film. I have no idea how this person got a hold of it or where it came from but it’s only the first 9 minutes of the film and it was the only video this channel uploaded so I’m not sure what this means… I started working on the reconstruction using the “Horrors of the Red Planet” cut along with the original trailer featuring the original title in 720p… That trailer is better quality than this mystery upload I found so I’m going to stick with that but this video is an amazing reference for the fades and cuts in the opening sequence.

If anyone has any more information on the film or happens to be good at up-scaling, the help would be greatly appreciated. 😃
