Always found it weird Lucas did NOT do anything like that with Anakin when introducing him. Having the most mythological important character’s first visual appearance walking around a shop seems so mundane.
Luke’s first appearance was pretty mundane too. I think it was intentional in both cases, to show that greatness comes from humble origins.
Agreed, but at least with Luke we were told about him before he went off on his journey. His feelings of being trapped, not being able to escape, wanting to join his friends, wanting to join the rebellion, etc. With Anakin, we don’t really get anything. Not any idea that he longs to be a jedi, or leave where hes at, or that he lives a horrible slave life that differs from Lukes safe life with his uncle.
Anakin needs a broom boy moment staring at a duel sunset as ships are leaving the planet i think, before he meets Quigon and gang. Would help when he calls out Quigon as being a Jedi.
