The Matrix Reloaded - Cam Bootleg DVD Preservation (Released)

Hi everyone!

So at Goodwill today I found a fake-looking DVD of The Matrix Reloaded (crappy cover art and a blank white disc with “THE MATRIX DVD” printed on it), and it ended up being a theater bootleg. I figured it was worth uploading if anyone wanted to check it out. I remember there was some sort of argument of how the Matrix sequels were framed differently between theatrical and home video releases, so here’s an example of theatrical framing! It’s a 1:1 DVD folder rip so it has the chapter select and menu. It only comes in at 1.36gb.

PM me for a link!

Below are some screencaps and a scan of the artwork:

This is great lol. The fact that you found this at a Goodwill is impressive. This would be interesting to watch and get an audience reaction audio sync with a better looking picture. I’m not sure but I wonder if anyone on here knows of the Matrix sequels 35mm print restoration projects, this would complement that big time.

Yeah I was kind of surprised to find it for sure! I flicked through it and there either isn’t much of an audience there, or they did not like the film at all because there is no cheering, laughing, clapping, etc lol.

As for the sequel 35mm projects, I am not aware of at all. I did however see this print of Reloaded for sale on eBay…

Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out when I get a chance. As for the audience reaction, I was 14 when this film came out and honestly I don’t remember audience participation being really a “thing” at that time. People seemed pretty sedate in theaters around that period from what I can remember. I remember going to see this film on a Friday for opening weekend. I forget where it was as my friend’s dad took us to go and see it. Either way I remember walking out somewhat disappointed at the time, although my expectations at the time weren’t that high as I was more into video games at the time than I was film (that would have to wait another year or two for me to truly appreciate the art of film). I will say that in 2005 when Revenge of the Sith hit theaters, people seemed to cheer more than they did for the Matrix sequels, but I feel the best audience participation has been the past few years (exception this year, obviously), people seemed to respond to Rise of Skywalker, even with panned reviews. When people talk about theaters being a dead thing, I almost want to point them to the early 2000’s - late 2000’s as a time when people really didn’t seem to care that much about what was out and what was projected on the screen. Just my opinion though, sorry for the long reply.

Sometimes these things were recorded at a late showing with few people in the auditorium, or after hours.

It’s easy and better to chop all that tracking bloat off of ebay links. See above.

Hi, I know this thread is from several months ago, but I’ve been looking for a theatrical cut video of The Matrix Reloaded for over a decade now. If someone has the video that was being discussed in this thread, I would super super appreciate a message containing a link! It would absolutely make my day.

Thanks 😃

I know this thread is ancient, but I would love a link if you still possibly have one, thank you so much.
