Harmy + Hal 9000 Box Set

A simple concept I’m working on for a 9/10-disc Skywalker Saga box for my favorite edits, Harmy’s Despecialized Trilogy and Hal’s Prequels and Sequels (plus The Phantom Edit for historical value). The blurb on the back is written to introduce the contents to a hypothetical viewer who is not familiar with fan edits (which is why it’s all referred to as “new”), while trying to be respectful to Lucasfilm’s versions of the movies.

Thoughts so far?

Pretty cool. The back is definitely too wordy though. Perhaps there could be one small paragraph for each of the trilogies to let people know what they contain.

Also, using Despecialized for the OT feels a bit strange considering the PT and ST are both fanedit series by Hal, and he has a series of edits for the OT (special edition) as well: https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/The-Custom-Special-Edition-That-Almost-Wasnt-But-Then-Was/id/61930/page/1

I guess the question I have is what is your goal? Is it to showcase a variety of impressive edits? In that case Adywan’s ANH and ESB would be shoe-ins, and Popasketti’s version of TLJ as well. Or is your goal to present a cohesive version of the Saga from Hal?

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I guess you could call it a companion to the official releases? The official releases of Star Wars include Lucas’ special edit of the OT and the original versions (sans TPM Yoda) of the PT and ST. So this box is the opposite: the original OT and edits of the PT/ST.

Plus, this is just my personal favorite collection of Star Wars movies. The already classic OT is preserved, and the Prequels/Sequels are all improved to be closer to the OT’s level. It’s how I personally rewatch the saga and have recommended rewatches to my friends.

It’s worth noting that even Hal himself says that his own edits of the OT are intended as companions to the originals, not replacements.

And thanks for the feedback! I still want the foreword to get the points across, but it definitely needs to be less wordy. I ran it by a friend who helped fix a few spelling/visual things, but he didn’t comment on that.

Edit: here’s a slight improvement. Will probably trim even more.

I’d consider all caps for the Despecilized and Re-edits. They don’t really look balanced.

Good point, I forgot that font is capitalized in all the sequel titles. I’ll edit that now.

Edit: Capitalization, shorter foreword, new typeface more accurate to the movies, and shifted some things a little.
