Cool! I’m planning a regular Rey Palptine version first, then a Rey Nobody version whenever the pieces are ready for it. In my head, I’m gonna think of the first as my canon. I would’ve preferred her to have remained a “””nobody””” but this particular film seems shaped by her new heritage. But I don’t mind allowing for both. I can imagine randomly selecting which one to play even.
But even for Rey Nobody, unless it’s near unanimous, I think it’s stronger to keep the original final line.
i think “just Rey” could fit really well in the “Rey Palpatine” version, i think she grew over the fact that she needs a last name, she already found a family in her new friends, and “there are things stronger than blood”, i do not hate “Rey Skywalker”, but i think “Rey Nobody” fits better with her character in any case.
If the original movie was “Rey Nobody” all along, i think “Rey Skywalker” would be a good ending to that story, she found her family there, but in “Rey Palpatine”, the whole deal is about she growing past family titles and heritages.
