My gas is at the gas station, just as it's always been.

I just filled up at 2.91, and that was the cheap stuff.

Ours is about $3.15. Our governor is contemplating suspending the gas tax, which is about .42 a gallon. Now if they'd waive the federal tax it would be nice.

That was in Atlanta, it was based on rumors of a gas shortage and the gas stations that did that are being investigated for price gouging.

BTW: I haven't bought a tank of gas for several weeks now, so I have no idea where prices are at. I haven't really paid much attention as I drove around either.
I think the last I saw was $3.09.

Around here $3.39 for mid-grade, which is what I usually get.

We're out of gas around here, except for diesel. The stations are just closed down and yellow-taped up.

there was the shortage rumor in MD as well, just saw on the news about $4 for reg and $7+ for premium at some stations...the rumor was shown false and prices lowered and are now at about $3.49 for reg...i have a performance engine so get the premium but i still get better mileage than my old car...i pull about 32mpgs but can prob get close to 40 if i drive 'mile conscious'. I may drop to mid grade to save a few bucks.

on NPR here at the metroplex it said gas was supposed to be 2.69 in the area. BS!! lowest i saw today was 3.09

honestly i think its somewhat of a false shortage...not saying that we dont have to worry about a shortage...but i think the panick brought on by rumors and talk of $4 a gallon has pushed people to fill up and essentially caused a shortage.

hopefully things will settle within the next week or two and then even drop some once the pipe lines start flowing again.

i'd have to agree with you darth. everyone is freaking out, but i honestly don't think there is any reason to. price of gas was destined to go up. it just happened in one big bump instead of gradually. it'll level out, then go down.

at least i hope it does. heh

I heard that part of the price increase came from some bad weather down by the gulf, dont know what that is about.
