- Meeting D-O: I would cut all lines relating to D-O being abused, as it’s not relevant to the story and the social politics can really take viewers out of the movie. Star Wars isn’t timely, it’s timeless.

How is “he was treated badly” social politics? Sure, animal rights are an issue that people debate sometimes, but all I got from D-O’s introduction was “animal abuse is a thing that also happens to droids.” That’s not much of a statement.
