To be fair, everyone’s always been an asshole to 3PO. “Shut him up or shut him down!” I do think it’s a little awkward how mild this line reading is compared to Poe’s reaction though. You’d expect 3PO to be more hysterical.
I dunno what it is about TROS, I just feel really sorry for 3PO. Everyone seemed really extra nasty to him this episode. 100% didn’t earn the “One last look… at my friends!” line. It’s so being cut. 😃
After 3PO says “One last look… at my friends!” it would be cool to have a short montage of Luke, Han and Leia from the Original Trilogy. This would make is appear 3PO is accessing his memory banks of Luke, Han and Leia instead.
There’s actually a parody of that somewhere. I can’t remember who did it. Maybe HISHE. You’re right though.
I’ve butchered that entire scene but it works once you remove the friend’s line and the repeated dialogue that Poe says in the previous scene. No idea why this is repeated, so removing Poe saying it first gives 3PO’s delivery more gravitas.
So, Poe saying “Are you already their 3PO?” and then 3PO delivers the “…all this time” *dramatic pause
Also, Poe clearly has concussion because he keeps forgetting why they when to see Babu i.e 3PO will have complete memory loss. I think it’s repeated 3 times, WHY? It’s like JJ this Star Wars audience have the attention span of a 3 year old and constantly needs to be reminded of the plot. *eyesroll

THIS IS ROUGH, I haven’t done anything with pruning the audio yet, this is just raw lines used:
I really didn’t like the joke about R2 “putting something in his head” as well as the smash cut mid-sentence, so I changed it.
I hope Snooker gets a chance to see my “mistress Rey” line replacement since she was the one who gave me the idea!

I thought about that, I think you can explain it as ALL of his memories coming back, and his brain pulls that specific one out of the blue and reminisces about it.
I think that’s the ‘canon’ idea now anyway, that his prequel memories returned as well. I like this idea, and hopefully we can make it blend.
What’s the source of the dialogue? Sounds familiar but I can’t place it.
I’m not sure what “Padme’s very first mission” would be, though. First mission of the Clone Wars? Is there even some specific dialogue like “I am going with Mistress Padme to the ___ system” or something to reference TCW?

I know, makes no sense… I planned on having him say, “…very first mission with Master Anakin” but I couldn’t make it work. I thought it would be nice to have some confirmation that 3PO witnessed what would be considered a very interesting event. 😏

Seems the clip has generated more interest in sending in clips. So once I get a few more I’ll send them along to axlanian. But any after that I’ll just overlay myself and those may not stick out as much.
I guess that Threepio would be referring to heading to Geonosis in Episode II, even if he stayed on the ship in your edit, Hal, it would still make sense in that context.

Nice job! I like the prequel reference but I think the original joke then smash cut worked better.
I should be able to cut together a ‘Colossus, reporting in’, or an ‘Ace Squadron, reporting in’ from dialogue from Resistance, since we know they’re there (and can actually see the Aces in a few shots, complete with lovely new ILM-made models), if anybody is interested. I know it’s not folks’ favorite show, but it could be nice to include for some continuity.
Since the novelization (and some of the proposed crawls, along with Visual Dictionary stuff, so frankly, probably earlier drafts of the script and possibly filmed scenes) mention major resistance groups in other parts of the galaxy, cut off from each other by First Order jamming tech, it might be worth coming up with some other continuity-inspired fleet names, outside of ‘Mon Cala fleet’. Maybe ‘Batuu Cell’, the Virgillian Free Alignment, ‘Onderon Fleet’, stuff like that.
It might be fun to include some Legends callouts, too- Iblis Fleet (named after Garm El Iblis, the Legends Rebellion Leader), or just straight-up Katana Fleet.

No, that’s a horrible idea. The ST is already too obsessed with OT as it is. I’d allow the montage if it includes the Prequels and a bit of the Sequels, tying it all together, but just the Originals would be insulting. I get that has Prequel memories haven’t been restored at this point, but that’s not important.

There’s been dialogue sent in for Kaz and Jaeger so it’d be great to have Doza and the Colossus. There’s also a call sign for the Outrider so it’d be ace to have more Legends easter eggs imo.

It’s whatever you want it to be, but I encourage making something up yourself.
I like the idea of sneaking in a prequel reference, but it seems to me like the dialogue implies C-3PO lost all post prequel memories, which at that point is as sad as the complete memory wipe, making the scene kinda pointless and the comedic tone feel inappropriate.
Yeah those are all good points. Ideally it’d be able to clearly imply ALL his memories are back, and fit in seamlessly to the existing scene audio.
I don’t mind the “put what in my head” line. Just another entry into innuendo SW bingo.
