quick update--DarkJedi was already hooked up so I'll be sending copies to:
bwlag Cyberdave Yanksno1 ntrprs
it may be a week to 10 days before the copies get out the door--i have family in town and won't have much burning time.
i've offered to send them discs free of charge if they'll pay forward to other OT.com members--i assume this is how paying forward works. so hopefully anyone else who needs a copy will hear from these folks soon via PM or this thread.
I live in NYC and would be happy to pay it forward if anyone could send me a copy of this. I have access to a duplicator and everything, so the turnaround should be quick.
Sorry Boomstick - my PMs are forever overflowing so I can't send any more until I get around to cleaning them out.
I'm not going to be sending any more DVDs out for a while, but I hope someone can get a copy to you - there are a few PAL copies out there now. And one of these days I'm going to get around to making a torrent...

Going nowhere right now - I'm still packing to move house on Saturday. I've also been busy with a couple of other projects - a conversion of the SACD of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds to DTS CD (for the reason that my amp won't allow graphic equalisation of an SACD), and a conversion to PAL of the hilariously appalling Pendragon Pictures version of War of the Worlds.
And, when it comes out on DVD, I'll be making my own edit of Spielberg's War of the Worlds too!
hey editous, what are you using to create your DTS sound? now I'm going dual layer on my project that has appeal as I can retain more bit rate on the 5.1 track.
War of the Worlds deserves an edit. I was looking forward to that movie and what I got was encounters of the third kind. You know when Spielberg comes into a movie that the family is going to be dysfunctional, but there is so much that doesn't make sense. The scene with the crashed plane and the tv van was probably the worst.
I would like to see this War of the Worlds be made a lot closer to the original movie, which is still a classic in my opinion.
Well, Darth...I hope some day you are able to come back and do the ESB edit that the film deserves. I would love to see you apply your attention to detail to the film, not to mention a possible soundtrack inclusion of the deleted music tracks.
This sounds like the best fan-edit I've ever heard of. I'm completely blown away by the miracles the editors have been doing with the OT and the PT. I want to thank each and every one of you for all this wonderful work. I have wanted to do an edit of EP I, EP II, and a similar edit to this one. Seeing what Darth E has done here, I won't even bother. If anyone can help me out with a DL or DVD+R of this, I would be most grateful. Not sure what I can offer, but I'll do what I can. Thanks again to everyone who is struggling to keep my childhood memories preserved.

Ditto. And I too would love a copy of the Editous Editionous, if possible.
It really is an amazing job, because it addresses most of the problems with the DVD, the editing of the film and with general erros when it came to film making.
To this day I think the audio for Luke to respond to Han in the gun turret was lost.
Um, someone NEEDS to send copies of this to "segaflip", so that he may consider uploading it to the newsgroups where many, many fans will have access to this edit. It sounds fantastic, and I would love to get my hands on it, but I think the best bet to get it distributed is to send it to segaflip. And then some of us can seed it as a torrent as well. How about it Darth Editous?
Again, I please ask that anyone who has an NTSC copy of this, if you could please send it to me, I have access to a DVD duplicator, and would be more than happy to help spread this in the States.
