@FilmD00d Thanks man. Hard to say at this point. I should be able to handle it all, however in case something unexpected happens (like me ending up having no time to do a release), I’ll ask around for help for sure.

@trillary dump Thanks! Noted.

I will gladly pledge $20 to help this preservation project!

@Gomu69 Thanks man! I updated the OP.

A little update, see OP. Unfortunately we still need to raise about $150 more. I made a mistake and assumed a wrong price for scanning. Beg your pardons.

PMs have been sent to all OT members who pledged a donation for this project. I’m collecting the donations now to see who’s still in since we’re almost there.

Already mentioned it in the updated OP but: If we absolutely fail to raise the extra $150, the project will happen anyway. However I would have to pay a lot more out of my own pocket than I’d really like, so any further donations will be much appreciated. =)

Well that was quick. Assuming all pledges come through, we are now 100% funded and the project’s future is secure. Any donations coming in now will merely reduce my own pledge of currently $240.

I’m curious to see what the look of this print will be like

Since this thread is about The Dark Knight, I want to ask does anybody own the 4K Blu-ray? I remember reading that it’s sourced from a brand new master that was personally supervised by Nolan himself, and how does it compare to a 35mm print? Is the colour timing faithful to the theatrical print?

I would assume after having this scanned we can say a lot more about it. I doubt that the 4K-disc is not faithful or not enjoyable, but its not a 35mm-print anyway. Look at capsaholic, there is a comparison between the old(imho very bad bluray) and the 4K disc.

Amadeus 35mm-Project WIP. Help needed!!

Great news. All the donations have been received. Thank you very much to everyone who is supporting this project.

As soon as there’s anything to report, I’ll let everyone know!

Thanks for the heads up.

A first sample has been sent to donators via PM

Is it still possible to make a contribution? I’d pledge $10 if I could!

A first very rough low quality preview has been sent out to donators.

If you donated but didn’t receive this, please send me a PM.

I could recognize the first attached trailer as Watchmen; what was the other, marked at 00:03:07?

Body of Lies, I believe. There’s also Terminator Salvation.

I don’t know if that’s part of the movie, it’s just how I got it from the scanner.
