It would be cool to add more types of ships to the Battle of Endor. Don’t know if you’ve finished the visuals for that battle, but adding Interdictors, Victory-Class Star Destroyers, and Y-Wings would make the battle grander. Also TIE Defenders and maybe TIE Advanceds would be awesome.

Ady already answered this, and said he wouldn’t, I think it was like 20-30 pages ago. So it probably won’t happen.

Yeah, I saw just now. I understand why though

Yeah, this is almost my wishlist! Never been a big fan of the overpowered TIEs, as I’ve always seen them as expendable machines and personnel in favor of the powerful capital ships. However, I have thought it a travesty since the prequels that they never incorporated the Victory-class, and I always have hoped someone would include them. I certainly wouldn’t mind the Interdictors, as I was a fan of the West End Games RPG, nor would I mind the Clone Wars era Y-wings, as those are just cool, IMHO.

Oh well. Maybe some fan film will do something like this one day.

So I think a potentially really great Luke/Vader moment can be created in editing on the shuttle Tydirium as the crew is apporaching Endor. I think some of the goofy lines in the scene really take away from the drama between Luke/Vader. I think a really cool idea would be to add in one of those really short “force dissolves” you see in Empire.

I like that, you could use the deleted scene of Vader calling out to Luke, as Luke was building his lightsaber in the cave. You would need to use the shot of Luke in the shuttle, as if he heard Vader calling him, then cut back to Vader once more calling out to Luke.

This is a rough version of the “force connection” I’m talking about. They also replicate this in TLJ with Ben and Leia. But great suggestion! @CarboniteSolo

Adywan, would you still be willing to consider having the lightsabers glow for ROTJ:R?

I don’t think you realize how difficult it is to create a new light source and not have it look fake. The thing with the new movies is that they had LED light sabers on set that actually lit the actors and scene IRL. That just wasn’t possible back in the 70-80s so there is no lighting reference.
Although it would be cool and you might be able to use a red or blue or green filter to get close to that affect, I don’t believe it would hold up. Lighting is such a tricky area in VFX because, your eyes are so used to seeing real lighting that they can easily tell something is fake if anything is even slightly off.

Ady attempted this for ESBR, if I recall, it was too much work and didn’t look quite right. You can see it in the early trailers he made.

Ady, will the space battle have the intended music that’s heard on the soundtrack and what shots for the space battle are you going to use?🤔😊😉😊😉

I know these edits are their own thing but adding Imperial ships escaping in the background before the Death Star explodes wouldn’t hurt. They just seem to vanish in the theatrical cut and if people are into the sequels it would set those up too.

The glow on Luke’s face during the ESB:R trailer was beautifully done.

Maybe it is a dumb question to ask, but if you continue the project after the current events do you plan to use the harmy despeciliazed version 3.0 (once it is finished) or would you´ve to redo every effort made prior?

Check out Corridor crew redoing the shot from Scorpion King. They mention how you do it using the extraction tool. I’ve used the same technique in some shots. You can change the color and blend it.

The scenes between Han and Leia should be more intimate. Just a thought.

How would one accomplish this?

Cutting the love triangle shots like at the ending scene when he says “When he comes I won’t get in the way” for example. Remmove the dialogue sequences relating to it.

Idk how this was done, but I gotta say it looks like the best of both worlds when it comes to the force Ghost issue. This one is obviously a bit over done, he looks like 90 rather than 45 (also wow why did they have Sebastian Shaw playing him, I know that the prequels we got were very different to how they were imagined based on what we hear and see in the OG trilogy but still, he was even older than Alec Guinness) but toned down a bit I think this would work as both Anakin being the man how died on the DSII and link back to the prequels as Shaw just doesn’t resemble him at all.

I’m not sure if this has been suggested yet or not, but what about Vader saying to Luke “Your mother once thought as you do” instead of “Obi-Wan once thought as you do”. I think that would be pretty impactful.

It has, here is a couple of tests people have tried out.

To mean they never sounded deep enough, I don’t mean in pitch, but like the depth of sound, but I don’t think you can fix that without going back in time and recording James Earl Jones slamming someones mumma.

Have him say, “Padme once thought as you do”.

You can use “Padme” from ROTS when he asks the Emperor about her. It’s loud and deep, and Luke should know his mother’s first name.

The issue is that the audience doesn’t know her fist name (depending on the viewing order at least) and it locks line into only making sense if you watch the prequels, which some people don’t like to do. More over the audience doesn’t know Luke knows, she is a mystery in to him. He ask Leia about her because he knows nothing and Luke’s reaction isn’t great enough for someone who has just found out his mother’s name. In context it would also make more sense for Vader to say “your mother” as it is father to son talk.
