pw: faneditI did actually bump the scale up a little bit. The model was about 1100 pixels high when it should have been about 1300. I didn’t scale it all the way up, though, because it didn’t pass the eye test for me, and like Nev said, it could just have landed a little farther away. (I can bump it back down if this doesn’t feel right, though).
The next trick I think is the lighting for the shuttle. I think the shuttle’s lightest light is a little too white or “bright.”
You have a good eye, jarbear! However, I wasn’t trying to match the lighting of the X-wing, I tried to match the lighting of the original Tie Fighter. Both the Tie and the shuttle have very sharp vertical wings which reflected super white in the original shot. I think it’s also because of the angle, where the X-wing is completely backlit from the lightning, creating a different effect.
Oh yeah, I gotcha, that makes sense with the approach then. The increase in size is noticeable, in a good way.
This shot is looking really good. I am living it a lot!
