Hmmm…

Crawl

Pan down to establishing shot of TIEs flying over Mustafar

Cut to interior of Star Destroyer, as Vader’s helmet emerges and Kylo places his hand on it. Maybe Vader says something vaguely relevant or just the vision that was there originally. Kylo begins to walk off.

Color corrected TFA teaser shot of Kylo walking in the woods, crouching and lighting his saber.

A couple establishing shots of Mustafar, ideally with three TIEs somewhere in there

Main scene as Kylo slaughters people

The wayfinder says “Find me”

I LOVE the idea of using the Vader helmet shot before he meets Palpy, since it makes absolutely no sense why he would connect with it after learning that IT’S NOT VADER! 😄

I do think that DominicCobb’s two vision scenes and all his other work he’s done is quite excellent, so maybe you should find more ways to incorperate some of his scenes into this, since you haven’t really given as much detail on how you are reworking all the Rey Palpatine scenes yet! 😋

I’m honestly not taking anything away from the change/edit, I agree with Chase that’s it’s actually more effective to be used in this manner

…BUT

(And this isn’t strictly pertinent) I always interpreted Kylo attempting to commune with Vader’s mask after Palpatine’s reveal as Kylo looking to ‘truth check’ Palpatine’s claim that he was acting as the voice of Vader.

I always assumed that the implication here was that Vader’s helmet has now fallen silent to him, which substantiates Palpatine’s claim that it was him all along and now that the truth has been revealed he’s dropped the charade/disdirection?

Vader’s mask is no longer a vessel but simply an inanimate object.

As I say that was always MY interpretation.

IF that is/was the intention/meaning/subtext I would still certainly agree that there’s not ANYTHING that explicitly states that to be the case…so repurposing it more effectively elsewhere is still a great idea!

I’m only saying that I never questioned it’s placement before due to how I personally interpreted the meaning of it.

(Which I always quite liked since it was probably one of the few moments of genuine nuance in the movie…If they had followed through on that thread and pursued the effect it had on Kylo now that he realises his connection to his grandfather’s spirit is revealed to be nothing more than a lie in order to manipulate him to the will of a Palpatine

…but like the allusion to Finn’s force sensitivity and Jannah being Lando’s daughter I wonder if it’s inclusion is nothing but a tiny remnant of storylines that were cut?)

Anyhow, carry on everybody 😃
