The mirroring of the Vader Castle does make it seem like its a new shot (along with the removal of Krennic’s ship)

What can also help sell that too is if you don’t use the “whole” clip.

Here is a quick and dirty rough idea if moving the Vader helmet scene towards the beginning. As for the middle of it, I didn’t do anything to it since I wanted to show just the “kylo” footage with Vader’s helmet. Obviously the idea would be to alter all that flashback/imagery/sounds/etc. to fit more on the lines of “Vader” guiding Kylo.

Hey, in looking over the Anti-Cringe cut, I think it would be worth considering showing a brief ‘flash’ vision of Rey on the throne right as she backs away at the Rey Palpatine revelation in the hangar.

It’s a little off-norm for Star Wars but it might help that moment more explicitly tie into her existing fear of her inner darkness.

I LOVE the idea of using the Vader helmet shot before he meets Palpy, since it makes absolutely no sense why he would connect with it after learning that IT’S NOT VADER! 😄

I do think that DominicCobb’s two vision scenes and all his other work he’s done is quite excellent, so maybe you should find more ways to incorperate some of his scenes into this, since you haven’t really given as much detail on how you are reworking all the Rey Palpatine scenes yet! 😋

I agree I’d certainly want to keep what Dominic has done for the vision. Perhaps he’ll like the idea of moving the helmet forward and adapt them. If it has to be one or the other, I’d rather use his vision.

I remember a while back that there was some experimentation with putting that deleted Kylo on the star destroyer bridge scene from TLJ into the opening on Mustafar and just noticed an issue with doing that is that the deleted scene takes place in Snoke’s destroyer, The Supremacy which has RED floors and was destroyed by Holdo, the destroyer in the opening of TROS is a regular one which wouldn’t have the red floors.

A very good thing to keep in mind. Well if it’s one or the other I think this wins out. In the theater I read Kylo as just… testing the Vader helmet to see if Palpy’s words were true.

Very nice, I should let everyone know that the audio Idir used was an ambient sound-mix created by myself which I will soon be remastering and sending to him since his copy was ripped straight from YouTube! Because of this, it means that the audio in Poppasketti’s clip is unfinished as of now.

Also, Poppasketti, have you made any more progress on the face-morphed “Just Rey” clip? That is the version I am keen on obtaining! 😄

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had access to the blu-ray scenes of Mustafar scenes from Rogue One? I have been practicing on Youtube 1080p clips and my USB blu-ray reader is on the fritz.

Just noticed that, like TFA:R, TROS features a planet destruction directly following Kylo having a conversation with Han and resolving himself in a direction. Just this time it doesn’t make us feel anything.

The part of my theater experience when I could have been heard pleading, “Oh, for God’s sake!”

Beautiful stuff as always Poppa. It was a very simple edit for me to make and I’m sure tons of other people would have done the same thing, it’s very courteous of you all to refer to it as my idea but of course I don’t have a monopoly on it! 😄

Yeah I’ve been playing around with it and it has a similar problem as Vader’s Castle, both clips are super blue and cold; and color grading to the new Mustafaran pinkish-orange atmosphere looks very strange. Could be that I am just a noob at this though

After seeing your take on this I got inspired and tried my hand at it. I added Vader’s castle here, as well as replacing Luke from Ach To with Luke from Crait. I think it turned out relatively nicely.
