I actually think Lynch could have done a pretty good job, that is if he’d been interested in doing a SW film in the first place (which he clearly weren’t). SW is for all intents and purposes pretty weird, and the aliens and “science” of it is straight-up surreal if you really start to break them down. Plus its not like Lucas would have allowed him to make it Eraserhead-weird. Dune and The Elephant Man are after all pretty tame compared to his other films, even Twin Peaks can be quite “normal” at times, and if you were to add Lucas and Kasdan into the mix I honestly don’t think it would have have stood out as particularly “Lynchian” at all.

Either way, now that we got Werner Herzog in the Mandalorian, someone should try to get a Lynch cameo in one of the upcoming seasons/series. Now that would be interesting.
