I disagree. Yes, it’s a plothole, but it wasn’t the prequels that made it. Episode 6 clearly shows ghost Anakin in similar attire as desert Obi-Wan, proving they were always intended to be the Jedi robes. Even if it still doesn’t make much sense, You can’t blame the prequels for this. The mistake had already been made in 1983.
