No, hey, it doesn’t hurt to try things, like you say. It might be more appropriate in the general ideas thread, but I don’t mind it taking place here. It seems like most of us check both threads anyway.

Regarding Ben’s Jedi robes, here’s what they look like in canon (bearing in mind comic visuals, especially covers, are not set-in-stone canon since they’re mostly down to the artists).

One
Two
Three
Four
Five
Six

Of course, you’d need some kind of cosplay footage to get anything like that into TROS.

I’m curious, what’d it look like if it was just Ben and Leia, and you pasted Ben’s face on top of Luke’s?

Then I think he would then be a tad short (for a stormtrooper).

I don’t see any reason to mess with Luke and Leia. The Jedi ghost thing seems to be less of a ‘true essence’ and more like ‘hey wow I found a way to teleport into ghost world and stop aging from where I was.’ Hayden-ghost notwithstanding.

Yeah, I agree with Hal, plus I like that they put Leia in the white robes from ANH. I don’t think any reused footage could look better than what we already have.

I and others would be interested to see what jonh could put together to replace Luke and Leia. The worst thing that would happen is the faneditors would say, no I like them better in the original and not use it in their edit. But if Hal doesn’t want to look at it we should move the topic off his thread.

someday I will do the test 😉

I think what is wrong is that they have to be bluer

I like the direction Ben’s robe is going but this looks a bit like a karate outfit.

Edit: Yeah they need to be blue and without the soft lighting around them which looks like angels in the clouds (or Maddie on the show Moonlighting), not force ghosts.

Lol… Well then the karate robe could stay. I for one like it better.

What if it were something similar to what Anakin wore in Return of the Jedi? With the brown cloak and everything.

The name’s Lawson. Noah Lawson.

On a different topic, has anyone considered adding some dialogue for the Knights of Ren? They stand around staring at things like a bunch of a-holes. If there were some amazing, menacing dialogue added, they would have more gravitas.

Luke is shorter than he’s supposed to be anyway, it’s a deliberate choice.

Regardless, I think anyone adding Ben should try to put him next to Leia. Yeah that’d mean moving them all to the right, but I think it’s pretty necessary.

Yes Ben next to Leia would be much better.

I think I’m going to work on my own version of that fantastic Falcon shot!

Snooker, that would be amazing! Would love to see what you come up with!

You could have Ben in the foreground with Luke and Leia behind him.

I feel like the easiest way to do this would be to put Ben’s face on Luke, maybe tweak his robes slightly so they don’t look identical, then add a new Luke ghost on the other side of Ben.

Had this idea using battle of Coruscant before the film came out, did a rough rescore of the final battle arrival scene.

Really nice! It sounds like you were able to remove the original music from the scene. Could you upload a version with just the sound effects?

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

I like this stuff. Ben’s ghost and the Falcon sound like fun regardless of how Rey answers the old woman. Still need to iron out end credit transition music sometime, too.

Just because I’m realizing I didn’t say anything about it, but that Falcon ending got me really hyped. Would love to see a fully completed version as a potential for my edit as well.

Thanks Dom!

I intend to keep working on mine and it looks like snooker might try one as well, so hopefully you will even have options!

Suggestions:

Battle of the fates.

The Final Order.

The Phantom Shadow.

An Ancient Fear.

Balance of the force.

Eternal Throne.

Generally speaking, I’m strongly against changing titles, as I think it should be clear which film it is, and that it’s the same one everyone in the fandom refers to.

That said, if I were to rename films, while I think Rise of Skywalker is perfect already, good alternatives would be The Eternal Throne, The Throne Eternal, and The Empire Eternal. Balance of the Force would work too. That said, I don’t like multiple SW titles having the same words in them (besides small ones like “the” and “of”, obviously).

The Rise of Skywalker could be referencing Luke Skywalker rising as a Force Ghost. So even if “Rey Skywalker” is cut from the end of the movie the title of the movie still holds water. I guess its open to interpretation.
