Even shows from the mid-2000s have issues on DVD. The episodes for the show are all uncut on DVD but unfortunately a bunch of song cues originally in the NBC broadcasts were altered. The streaming versions of the show however restore all of the omitted cues. But in sort of a win-lose situation, Fox was very sloppy and instead chose to utilize syndication edits of the episodes that were originally super-sized (the pilot and season 1 finale being examples). To my knowledge the episodes that had a regular runtime are uncut. Fortunately all but one of the originally hour long episodes are preserved. The one that isn’t is in two parts and as a result has about 20 seconds of footage missing. What I’d like to do is if anyone has the right sources, for specifically the affected episodes I’ll create restorations that are more faithful to the original NBC broadcasts. All I need to know are which episodes were originally super-sized, an hour long, and what cues were where initially. Plus I’ll need someone with the right capabilities to send me the streaming and DVD versions of the affected episodes. If anyone is able to please let me know.
