This interpretation might not come across to anyone but me, but I think if you kept all the lines about Snoke the way they are, and then had these Palpatine clones, it gives me the impression that Snoke might have actually been a malformed clone of Palpatine himself. The Palpatine clones already sort of look like hybrids with Snoke’s body and Palpatine’s head, so maybe those are other malformed bodies. Perhaps Snoke was an early clone, and they have slowly had to perfect the clones overtime. But in the meantime, Palpatine used Snoke to begin his plans for revenge.

Sure, we learn that Palpatine made Snoke, but what, or who, was he made from? I think this could be an interesting way to provide a little extra clarity.

But again, maybe that’s just me.
