For my first post, I figured I’d feature a really cool project of mine, enjoy!

Star Wars & Story of Star Wars 7" Reel to Reel Collection

This set was released as an exclusive premium through TEAC soundsystems in 1978 when you bought one of their higher-end reel to reel components. The set contains two 7" audio reels of 1/4" stereo 4-track tape, a photo booklet, and the Star Wars album insert.

I came across this set and decided to digitize it, especially since there is no good non-vinyl copies of “The Story of Star Wars” that I could find.

I have cleaned up and Re-EQ’d for the best sound quality possible using my reference level speakers and equipment. I am not an expert, if someone else would like to take a crack at the raw files, please contact me.

You can find the download through some quick google-fu. The files are out there and very easy to find. I packaged up a scan of the booklet as well in the download.

Enjoy!!

HI,

Whats the catalogue numbers of the reel? It should be written on the top of both reels and the left/top edge of the box. Also what contents are included? I bought one recently and I just want confirmation.

Kind Regards

Awesome looking set! Didn’t even know this existed.

Spent some time searching… no luck either. Maybe some search criteria/keyword hints?

I used to HAVE this set, but never had the reel to reel machine to play it. Ended up giving them away as a gift.

It looks like when this thread went up (2016) the “easily google-able” part was true. But now in 2020, the link probably being referenced (http://www.yfymidatakuras.xpg.com.br/star-wars-24-96-flac.html) is long dead, and it appears to have never been archived, either.
