Dun' get me wrong though. The movie had a lot going for it. A lot of good stuff, but I didn't like the swordfighting and the Vader voice was almost inaudible. And what was WITH that wierd looking villain? Was that a mask or something?
Troops was good. Loved it in fact.
IMPS was just ridiculous though. The introduction went on for far too long (I understand this partly - they are setting up a lengthy series and have a lot of ground to cover...). The opening shot was nifty, but went on too long. They could've made that impact in a shot half that length.
I did like some of the funnier Stormtrooper banter near the end, but most of this movie was a dud.
Gangsta Rap - absolutely brilliant. In fact, the newer version is even better.
Broken Allegiance... hmmm. In a couple of areas I swear Revelations lifted from this one. Hah. No not really, just the chase at the start. The Vader guy sounds hilarious when he says 'don't disappoint me'. The dialogue in the end battle is truly awful. And the villain should have kept his helmet on, he's ridiculous.
I respect them for including a Kalgan shot however (Kalgan shot = when the villain wakes up at the end and comes to kill you).
I don't want to be heavy handed when criticising independant films. Because I make 'em, and totally understand the limitations involved. However, a movie like Revelations gets enough exposure that it's mentioned on TV, and people begin to compare it to the real movies. So it should be judged by the same standard - and under that kind of spotlight, it just looks mediocre.
