In working on my “Faces” LD project, I’ve noticed that the films as they appear on the disc are mathematically closer to 2.28:1 ratio. I’ve read that a number of films including the 97 LDs we actually 2.28 and not 2.35 when placed onto the disc, but I have no idea why - especially as these LDs state they are the Theatrical 2.35 presentation.

Anyone have any insight to this? I’ve double and triple checked my work and always end up with a mathematical ratio of approximately 2.28:1
