All your edits seem on point but would you for v2 consider maybe some harder changes like ones found in CarstenJ.dk of Solo edit here:
https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Solo-A-Star-Wars-Edit-Released/id/65231/page/1

eg:

  • After crawl and planet pan open with Han a Quira escaping on speeder and rework the crawls text to fit.
  • Less in your face lucky dice shots
  • Add deleted scene where he gets demoted to the infantry
  • No Han getting the blaster from Becket.
  • Cut most of Han speaking wookie.
  • When formerly introduced to Chewie, cut out Han saying “Chewbacca” as it sounded patronizing
  • Fix the over the top score which makes your ears bleed about half way through the train heist or cut heist down.
  • Val does not sacrifice herself stupidly she just gets blown up by the droids.
  • Cutdown the kiss between Han & Quira in the falcon by cutting to Becket as to similar to Empires Han & Leia kiss in falcon.
  • Cut L3 fist pumping the air and shouting “Rebellion!” at the spice mines

This might be close to what you are looking for

Looking forward to a V2. I’m not sure what your source is, perhaps the BluRay or iTunes version or something, but I encourage exporting at the maximum settings that make any sort of sense, if you haven’t already.

I’m planning to tweak your edit just slightly by restoring the original opening style and the “we’ll have you flying in no time” gag, just for personal, non-shared enjoyment.

Thanks for the response Hal! V2 is done and available through the usual chain. The source is the Blu Ray but I usually encode it at ~16mbps which makes the file around 15gb in size. I tried a 25gb file for RotR, but had issues with DVD architect messing up the audio (it can’t make a disc with 5.1 for some reason…) and I’ve been shy of requiring such a big download file after the issue. I suppose I shouldn’t as the file could have easily been demuxed and then muxed with the corrected audio file. Ha, I should just do that *face palm. Anyway, I’ve got a few projects I’m working on and life is running full board right now, but I’ll see if I can get a larger render going during the Christmas holiday season when I have a bit more time and set up a larger render for the spleen.

Feel free to use the file as a base for any project. You always do amazing work and I’d be honored to have any bit of influence on your edits. Thanks for reaching out! 😃

Well, I’d certainly welcome a full-throttle encode if you’d ever do one.

All I really want to do is slap in the original opening, free of fanfare and crawl, and somehow include your ‘The Coaxium Heist’ title, but otherwise leave it alone. Just to have it fit in with the other movies. I love this edit and I love that I don’t have to trudge out into Solo myself. Thanks again for the great work here.

If anyone reading this is so inclined, PM me if you’d like to replace the original shot that contains the “Solo - A Star Wars Story” with one that says “The Coaxium Heist.” I think that’d be pretty sweet, and I’d love to just toss out a version with merely an alternate opening.

I could probably make an alternate version with the title. It probably wouldn’t be as snazzy looking as the theatrival one, but that would be a fun challenge 😃

Yes please, that would be great to see! And yes it would fit in with the other movies a whole lot better than having a crawl beginning.

Definitely not an urgent question, but any progress re: the alternate version with the title? That would be my preferred version as well.

Hi everybody. I’m looking for subtitles for this fan edit (I can’t watch it without, sorry 😦 ).
Would somebody have them, or would somebody be up to the task, please?
English would be perfect, french would be a nice add-on.

Thanks in advance!

PS : also looking for subtitles for “Rise of the Rebellion” (they do exist but they aren’t available anymore in the corresponding topic). Thanks again!

There were subs for RotR, that’s for sure. They were posted in the other topic, but the link is down now.
As for TCH, I haven’t seen any subs in this topic, but I’m glad if you say that somebody’s been working on them.
Can somebody help with any of these two? Fingers crossed!

Can anyone here, (including you DigMod) hook me up with the BluRay quality Solo deleted scenes?
That would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Ummmmm… You shouldn’t be asking for those. You should purchase the blu ray.

Weird seeing that many people have no problem distributing Prequel deleted scenes for free. Not to mention all the times people have asked for BluRay exclusives from other films.
Besides, I already own a legitimatly purchased copy of Solo as well as an iTunes purchased digital copy.

Then why don’t you rip the scenes from your blu ray. MakeMKV does the trick.

Presumably, most people are going to use a primary source much subsequent to the DVD release of the prequels, and may not have access to those deleted scenes. Besides, people are requesting processed versions of them to look better in upscaled high definition.

However, asking for material that should have been included with the Blu-ray of a current film implies that you may be working from something else.

Understood, thanks for clarifying and staying calm. Sorry for dragging you into this as well Hal. I had already contacted moderation for clarity on the official policy regarding ownership as deleted scenes were never mentioned. I’m still waiting for a reply but I think it makes sense now.

I believe there were some subtitles made by a member here, but unfortunately I don’t have a file myself.

Does any kind member of this website know where to find them? It will be highly appreciated.

Looks like I misread your last post PodracingThisis91. I thought you were asking if someone knew where to find the edit. Not sure how and why I misread it like that face palm.

Hey Hal, unfortunately love has been pretty fast and full lately. It’s definitely on the list of to do’s.

This is either my favorite typo of this forum, ever–or DigMod really has been enjoying a lot of vigorous sexual activity.
