OK, I just checked IMDB - THe gadget guy is called 'Q' Algy. That rings a bell, I think Bond called him 'Algy', not Q, but his official title was Q. He was played by Alex McCowen.
I seem to recall a character named Algy. Hmm. What do you know? I need to go back and watch that one again.
