Episode 7, 8 & 9 - 2-hour Edit (a WIP)

Star Wars Episode 7, 8 & 9 - 2-hour Edit: No title Yet (suggestions welcome)

The general idea is to mash all 3 movies into 1 cohesive film. The plot as of now looks like this:

• Normal Ep 7 minus as much cringe and silliness a possible until Han and Chewbacca Find the Falcon
• Han takes them straight to the rebel base
  • The Maz Kanata castle and the D’Qar base are the same place now
  • We never meet Maz
• Han goes to talk to Leia
• Finn reunites with Poe
• Rey Finds the lightsaber and takes it
• R2D2 wakes up and show’s everyone the map
• Rey accepts a job offer from Han
• Han, Chewy, Rey, R2 go to find Luke
• FO and Dreadnought arrive at the base interrupting an evacuation
• The First Order attacks the base
  • This is a combination of 3 scenes: The attack on Maz’s compound in TFA, the Dreadnought scene in TLJ, and the gear up/ motivational scene from TROS before they attack Exegol
  • FO destroys Maz’s castle, X-wings Leave from the base and defend the planet
  • Rebels start to win, Stormtroopers call for air support
  • Last transport gets to safety
  • FO Leaves and Dreadnought destroys the base
  • Leia calls Poe in but he disobeys
• Dreadnought scene happens mainly the same way (reordered and without Paige Tico or any silliness or cringe)
• Kylo destroys a wall of monitors
• Rey gives Luke his saber and Luke hands it right back
• Rey follows Luke around the island for a while until she gets distracted by the Jedi tree
• Luke and Rey talk in the tree
• Poe gets demoted
• Luke meets Han in the MF and they talk, Luke sees the old ANH Leia hologram
• Rebels Arrive on Crait and set up
• Luke/Rey training montage
  • Flashes from when she touched the saber, dark Rey footage used, and a voice-overs from TROS and TLJ are used
  • Some training scenes from TROS
• Luke tells Rey about Kylo’s origin (edited so Luke is not POS)
• Rebels send out a distress call
• Rey leaves the island
• Rey meets up with Rebels on Crait with the new reinforcements (this does not look good atm)
• They arrive on a new base
• Han and Leia talk about Kylo
• The traitor scene from TROS (no skipping)
• Spy info decoded
• They Learn about Starkiller base
• Han, Chewbacca, Rey, and Finn go to star killer base to take out the shields while Poe attacks it
• Kylo kills Han
• The rest plays out mostly the same at the end of TFA
• Rae and Chewbacca fly off in the MF

The end

The issue I’m having is making a good way to get Rey back with the rest of the rebels after she leaves the island and then making the new base the rebels arrive on after Crait not look just like the old base (bc it is). I’ve done some coloring of the scenes but it doesn’t look great or help all that much, I’ve never edited any videos before this, I’ve never used Photoshop or premiere before attempting this project, so I’m sure there are lots of ways to remedy these things that I don’t know. I have wanted to do this project for a long time and once ROS came out on BR I figured I’d give it a try. If anyone has any suggestions to help that would be great. I’d be happy to go into more detail about edits and cuts or to post what I have so far if there is any interest. Thanks

Additionally, the other issue I have is that often individual scenes look good or a few scenes work well together but then in order to transition to the next scene something usually feels out of place.

Snoke does not exist at all. No mention of a Supreme Leader, I always found that to sound hokey. Kylo started the FO and Hux is the Tarkin equivalent.

Unfortunately, the Rey/Kylo relationship is not as fleshed out as I had intended. The original idea was for Rey to leave Luke’s Island and take the escape from pod from the MF (TLJ) to see Kylo after expressing how he can be saved. That is how she ends up captured, It makes her escape more plausible now having some training from Luke. It would have been easy enough to dub over Kylo’s dialog to change it to closer to the conversation in the elevator in TLJ expressing how she wants to help him. I’ve done rough cuts of this and it just doesn’t seem to work atm. Her costume change is jarring and the lightsaber continuity is too much to fix imo. So rn Rey, Han, Finn and Chewy land on SK base and we immediately cut to the scene with the 4 of them outside ready to plant the explosives. Kylo dies on SK base.

Luke mirrors Yoda in ESB. He is initially reluctant, Trains Rey, Rey leaves prematurely, he stays on the island. That is the last we see of him. He never attempts to murder Ben. He never astral projects.

This sounds awesome! My personal favourite idea that I’ve seen on here thus far. Is it still in progress? I’m most interested in your scene with Luke and Han aboard the Falcon and having Rey go with Finn and Han to Starkiller.

this is really cool! i’m planning a 3-in-1 too that was sort of similar at the start but with more TROS things, my idea for a Luke/Han scene was to take some of Han’s lines when he meets Ben like “hey kid” and “leave here with me, come home, we miss you.”, and have him say these things to Luke. Mark Hamill could say “my old friend” and “han” and he also has lines from the not star wars but sci-fi wing commander where he says things like “nice to fly with you again” and stuff that he could say to Han. I just WISH we could get Luke, Han and Leia in the same scene, maybe merge Luke meeting Leia and Leia talking to Han about Ben? I don’t know if that’s possible. But there are some really nice ideas here, I love 3 in ones!

I used RTX voice to isolate Harrison Ford dialogue from other films to have him talk to Leia, you may want to try something similar. This sounds awesome BTW!

This can really work. I’ve seen edits where it’s implied that he’s left to die on the crashed death star but, since the TFA duel is so much more intense and he actually collapses as if dead after Rey’s final saber strike on him it will likely play out more effectively here.

What a strange mix of actors and characters.

Sorry for the crazy long reply time. A while ago my PC crashed and I have mainly been using an old HP laptop that barely runs adobe. Plus other life and family stuff gets in the way. However it is mostly finished. I would love to share it and get some feedback. Unfortunately because the computer can barely run the edit software it crashes every time I actually try to render/export the movie. Id love to show it to someone. If you have any idea please let me know.

Im thinking let it play on 1/16 quality and screen record. Even if it works, I’m not sure how it would look. maybe i can just capture some clips and get feedback. Anyway thanks a lot for the interest. sorry for the long wait. Ill be sure to be on here more often.

Thanks a lot. It is “finished”, Luke and Han could defiantly look better but im still tinkering. I think Rey going to Starkiller works. I had to reorder the scenes a bit and add some of Rey in the gunners hatch from TLJ and it look like she was there the whole time.

thanks for the interest. Id love to see yours if its finished. LOL I think I used all those same quotes. The audio was the “easy part” there is just not enough video of luke on the Falcon. but I think i have something that works and is short and sweet.
