Hi

I don’t know if this is the correct section to post this, but It’s like a fan edit in my opinion…

Yesterday, the ‘Mr Sunday Movies’ youtube channel post this video:-

The Cancelled STAR WARS Episode 9 Animated’ - https://youtu.be/itdfe5yQ0Hg

The blurb:-

‘Before JJ Abrams came on board for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Collin Trevorrow was slated to direct his own version, Duel Of The Fates. Vastly different to the Episode 9 that we ended up with it included no Emperor Palpatine, his Master Tor Vallum (using concepts from a cut character from the JJ version) more Rise Tico and General Leia, a double sided lightsaber for Rey, Kylo Ren as the main protagonist and about the same amount of the Knights Of Ren we actually got. There’s also a Finn Stormtrooper uprising plot that unfortunately I cut due to time and money constraints. And please check out Ethan who lovingly animated this at https://twitter.com/ethataylo and thanks for watching.’

It tooks only five minutes to make me so excited! This is the real Star Wars Episode IX!
This five minutes are better than two hours and half of SW TROS.

What do you think about that? It woudn’t be amazing if someone realize SW Ep IX in CGI based on Trevorrow’s script?

I don’t hate The Rise of Skywalker, but It don’t respect the saga and the previous chapters, and many things are not explained correctly or absurd.

I do not think you can JUDGE an unmade project… BUT…

I think the problems with RoS were chiefly thematic, both contradicting earlier themes and generally being unexciting ideas (“it’s all about Skywalkers and Palpatines”)

THIS story (DELIGHTFULLY animated) seems to have a much more interesting set of ideas and themes behind it, BUILDING new ideas, like Kylo’s downhill slide, or Rey’s new ideas on the Jedi.

And straight jacking a Star Destroyer would have been fun to see.

IDEAS are a dime a dozen (look at this website) and execution is ultimately what matters, but this sure looks like it COULD have been a fine film, more satisfactorily concluding the series.
