Hello everyone.

I started working on what i like to call a lightsaber montage dvd. I went through all the offical dvds (used 5.1 sound) and pulled out whenever a lightsaber was turned on. Edited it together so the shots are back to back. Split each episode up into their own vts and added menus for each. I should be uploading this tonight or tomorrow ran into a small problem in episode 6, audio is off a bit. Also need to make artwork for it, so when I fix the problem and make the artwork turn your heads to a.b.starwars.

Let me know what you guys think.

I've done pretty much the same thing, except it only contains the lightsaber duels, not every shot of a turned-on saber. Also, mine don't have any of the inter-cutting during the scenes, so when it's time to watch the "Duel of the Fates", you don't have to watch stuff like Anakin saying "We have to help them Artoo." I also haven't made a DVD out of it, but it may be a fun project. I think I'll wait until the official EP3 DVD is out.

By the way, what program are you using to capture the video? I've been using DVDx, but I'm finding it not so easy to capture video in the anamorphic aspect ratio.

Also, would I be correct in assuming you're using Adobe Premeire to splice the video together?

I have used mpeg-vcr for pretty much all of the video editing, for capturing the video I just copied the vobs to my hard drive and worked from that. The quality it pretty good since I did not have to rencode the video beause it fit on a dvd-r.
For the dvd I am using DVD-lab Pro and Adobe Photoshop.

I did take out a few of the longer inter-cuttings, also lets say that if the obi-wan vs anakin, and yoda vs palpatine fights from ep3 do make the final dvd it will be first the whole duel between obi-wan vs anakin, then the whole duel between yoda vs palpatine. No intermixing the different duels.

Burning off what I hope is the final version, at least till ep3 comes out on dvd. Will play with it to make sure that it is ready for release should be uploading Wed morning/afternoon.

Uping it to a.b.starwars right now, let me know what you guys thing. I am sure that there are people that can do a better job then me at this but it was my first try at a "fan edit".

I have just burned this and had a quick look.

So far, I am pretty impressed. I particularly like the Episode 1 segment where the saber shots just about tell the entire film story. The ultimate edit!!!


The whole thing reminds me of the Musical Journey DVD that came with the Ep 3 sountrack



BTW I will have your stuff in the mail by Monday.....

i finally finished downloading this yesterday--GREAT stuff. what a fun way to watch the films. it had such a great flow to it too.

one question--the audio on my TPM portion is out of sync--is this a common problem or did I fudge my burn somehow?

My guess would be the sync problem is my end. Had lots of troubles with it, even places that is should not have happened. Did my best to fix them, in the end to tell you the truth I said fuck it. Was not going to release it at first but then a friend made me, sort of. I think that I will redo it later, next summer, after ep3 comes out.
