Currently I’m still working (I do QA at a plastic meal tray factory), and we shouldn’t be affected unless we run out of orders with no new orders being placed, or existing orders get cancelled, or we run out of raw materials and can’t source any more.

More concerningly, 3 of the 5 people on my shift on Sunday were out sick, and the person on my opposite shift (I work a 2 on/2 off/3 on/2 off/2 on/3 off schedule) had to suddenly fly to Utah for a week for her dad’s funeral, so if we can’t keep fully staffed we might get screwed there too (I would complain about having to work 12hrs every night for the next week but the overtime could mean the difference between affording rent or homelessness if I do get laid off).

Currently I’m guessing I have at least 2 more weeks of work left just based on existing orders that aren’t yet cancelled, but beyond that I have no idea. I want to think that with everyone quarantined, demand for our product (used in microwave dinners, prepackaged meats, stuff like that) will either stay where it is or increase, but I really don’t know. And then there’s the raw materials and shipping concerns…
