I don’t think it’s any more “open ended” than the original ending.
What it does do is end the film on a more serious, reflective & emotional scene than the Ewok boogie.
I couldn’t care any less how it ties in to the ST, It’s just a better fitting end to the trilogy.that only works if you are going to follow it up with ST content
I totally disagree. The pyre scene with force ghosts is perfect closure.
