Delightfully menacing as Ming in 1980’s Flash Gordon and nearly destroyed the earth, played chess with Death, began to make things right, did an exorcism, saw the future, was in the greatest story ever told (not Flash Gordon), tried to kill Bond, and brought weight and substance to many of the roles he played.
