I’ve been experimenting with different lights and color grading. I also added some more details to the model itself.
Ps. This model was propably done in 3DSMax, I’m modyfying and rendering it in Blender.

Yeah dude, this looks great. Have you looked into a render farm to assist in rendering your projects? Sheepit is free and has a pretty good community.

I didn’t but it seems to be a game-changer, thanks! Right now, one frame of this animation is rendering about 12 minutes (in ray-trace sampling 1300, which isn’t good enough), and I have about 470 of them to render, just for the one shot…

And by the way, here’s the near-finished version of the ship with additional post-production!

There it is! Definitely not final, but it gives an overall impression on how it’s going to look like 😄 There are some problems with noise, lights and engines, which I’m going to solve soon. I’ve rendered it using Sheepit render-farm, which took 12 hours, so you get the idea how massive this animation is…

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

Wow, I’m loving it!

Outstanding work Petrovelly! Here’s some things I’ve noticed:

-There are some rendering glitches in the shadow regions of the Star Destroyer.

-There appears to be chromatic aberation in the edges of the Destroyer.

(Maybe it was for artistic intent but IMHO I’m not a fan of it because it gives the pretty solid render of the Destroyer a very “it was made in 3d and not an actual physical ship/model” look to it.)

-The engline glow needs a bit of lens flare, but as an suggestion and to add an layer of realism, base the flare from the camera lens used.

Yeah, I’m aware of these problems. Now that I have this animation rendered, I clearly see what’s to correct. Chromatic aberation is an artistic choice, but it will less noticable in the final render. Also, like I said before - engines are going to be completely reworked, because they look like shit right now. I want it to be as good as Rogue One’s CGI.

As it turns out, focal length play a massive role in the realism of a scene. Also - better lighting and engines!
@Jackpumpkinhead - Nah, I prefer not to spend any money on this, it’s just for fun after all 😄

@Petrovelly When will you add the lasers?

What focal length did you go with?

I just had a thought - if you’ve already got a good 3d model of the Tantive IV, maybe you can finish the CG for the alternate opening of the Last Jedi.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

How long do you think this is going to take, I don’t know why but, I’m kind of liking the idea.

By the way, could you use some inspiration from Adywan’s Original 2008 Episode IV Revisited?

I would say it is better not to expect anything from this like you’re thinking. Petro just posted some tests of certain shots he was working on remastering. This isn’t a remaster of the whole movie. And I think he has moved onto other projects right now. He may come back to this, maybe not. But that’s just a guess! He might come back on here and contradict me.

I’d say that seems like a very accurate assessment.

Hi guys! I’ve been recently watching Mike Verta’s Star Wars Legacy clips and I have to say - original Star Wars with all these miniatures and matte paintings looks amazing and magical. I’ve made some stylised test shot of Falcon, which suppose to look like miniature done in 1977. What do you guys think? 😄
