I don’t quite recall if this topic has been discussed in this thread or another one. Let alone if this would be considered a “radical” change since we gotta try to do realistic changes.

When it comes to Palp’s original motivation for Kylo is to Kill Rey. Later on when confronted with Rey, he is like “Nah, I was just cranky and didn’t have my snickers bar, I wanted you to just come and see me!”

Now, I know when it comes to Palpy he is playing 3d chess and even plays some dangerous games. (ROTJ, leaking info to the Rebellion, even letting Rebels infiltrate Endor)

But, it doesn’t quite jive right to me. Especially when it came to Kylo himself and his motivations … it just seemed all kinda … off to me.

If there was a way to change Palps lines, which may or may not be possible, but even changing his lines to be more on the lines of “Bring her to me.”

Couple reasons why this works:

1.) Makes more sense in the end since he wanted Rey to come and strike him down.
2.) Kylo’s motivation stays in tack. We know he still wants Rey, even if he got all upset in the last movie with her. We know this true since … he wants her to join him RIGHT away when he gets in touch. So his personal motivation is to get Rey to join him and they BOTH take out the Emperor. He can entice her further with the full knowledge of her lineage to help “motivate” her too agree with his personal plan to take out the emperor. "Hey, you know how you hate the dark side. Well, your grandpa is THE bad guy who is alive. Want some revenge and decide what you want to do, let’s get rid of him together so he won’t do anything to you.

I have more to say … but this post is getting to big, so this is my initial thought!
