I applaud having two different versions. (I am going for the V3 all the way!)

I will comment on the Matrix Shot - Personally … it needs to go. It took me out of Star Wars in a smaller way in comparison to the Leia Poppins moment. It will not make or break the edit for me whichever direction you go, but Hal’s removal is clean. The Matrix Scene is classic in Matrix … but it’s not necessary here.

Also, I do not recall if this topic came up here or somewhere else, but I am curious if it would be wise to look at the Kylo and Rey scene discussing her parents? Would removing/edit the lines about “sold you for drinking money, etc” be something to think about/discuss?

Star Wars has the concept about “Certain Point of View” on things, but this was more like “I saw what happened” as opposed to “My view on this is …” This is especially drawn out since he then explains in detail everything that happened to them. So … yeah.

I think just removing the line about “selling them for drinking money” and whatever else was a blatant lie would be wise. Especially since he tells her “I didn’t lie to you” in the sense that they were nobody’s … they chose to do that AND PROTECT YOU FROM GRANDPA! The other details he added are lies since the actual “Point of View” topic is them being nobodies, albeit the CHOSE to do that. Not the selling her for drinking money.
