Characters like The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda are interesting because even though they happen in the past (relative to the most recent movies) I have no idea what will happen to them. Will they live or die? The same with the rumored sequel series to Rebels. I have no idea what happens to Ezra, Sabine, or Ahsoka. But when you go to the past and bring along characters like the original Yoda, I’m not going to be too concerned about any danger he is in, or temptation he has. I already know his story. The same with the Obi-Wan series.

Don’t get me wrong, I am interested in seeing both, and the upcoming season 7 of The Clone Wars, but I’d really like it if they put more resources to telling me all new stories with all new characters that I have no idea what will happen to them. Or at least continue a known character’s story that I don’t know the outcome of.
