Beer: Revisited

Couldn't find the old thread and the settings wouldn't take me back far enough to find it.

However, I needed to post here for my other fellow Illinoisan (whose username is eluding me at the moment), that I found Smithwicks in the suburbs. It was at a new place called The Fresh Market. We have a couple out here now that both went up in the last year. Dunno if there are any in Rockford area, but if you are willing to make the trip, you can find one in Geneva at the Geneva Commons on Randall Road just a bit south of Route 38.

gather round children gather round for Sama-san has some wonderous news of beer for you. I have in recent weeks discovered the single most delicious smoothest beer that have ever graced my lips. Hoegaarden. It is a vitbier (white beer) and is simple awsome. Now you have to drink it out of a glass so it isnt your best bet for the fishing trip, grilling in the back, at the game outings, but as far chillin at the house spot on. Great smell, goes done smooth, and has only a slight bitterness.

check it out...

I will have to see what I can do to get a hold of that, Kingsama.

Simon, yes the Google ads did show Beer ads (alongside SW ads). As I type, the top banner shows "Download Episode III," "Darth Vader's Clubhouse," "Darth Vader Costume," and "Genuine Guinness Gear." It looks as though Vader has good taste in brew.

I have been there many times before but thanks for the heads up. A great place to get beer for sure. I live in Rockford and we don't have one.

Does anyone out there brew their own beer or am I the only one?

It's like you guys read my mind and combined the two forums I go to. Beer and Star Wars. Man is this heaven?

But Billy Dee Williams (Lando) was the first to combine the two ideas with his shilling for Colt .45 soon after his appearances in the SW OT. I was hoping for them to play this up in the PT with Mace kicking back with some Colt in the Jedi Council Chambers with a Twi'lek chorusline singing "Mace! You daaaaaamn right!"

Good point on the malt liquor. Wasn't thinking.

Have not seen the Chappelle ads. Will have to check them out.

best beer in the world is alaskan amber. i've tried many a beer, but that one always takes the cake. Alaskans have perfected the craft of brew (mostly because of all those long nights, heh).

my old roommate from college is from Tokyo and he used to always bring Asahi. When my wife and I moved down to texas, we found it at the Central Market (specialty organic grocery store that happens to have a pretty kickass beer selection). brought back great memories.
