The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread — Page 333

TBF, there is an abundance of Prequel edits out there already. Maybe most people now have a cut they find satisfying.

Simple, remove all of the “woops” and have him go with the other space fighters his decision (cut all dialog about the autopilot) 😃

On the podrace do the same, cut the silly exclamations and it works much better.

I’d like to see a cut where the 9 year old says “I move for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum.”

On a different note, I think we should establish right from the start that Palpatine and Sidious are the same person. I know you may be thinking it’s obvious given they’re played by the same actor, but I think for kids who don’t know that it’s worth specifying. Unfortunately, we don’t have a shot of Sidious turning off a holgram to the Trade Federation, removing his hood and emerging from a dark room into a familiar room on Coruscant as Palpatine, but maybe we can work something out.

I remember reading somewhere that there were rumors in the late eighties that Mark would play Anakin in the prequel trilogy, so I think Deep faking Mark Hamill’s face onto Hayden Christensen’s could be really neat.

Neat? Yes.

Good? I’ll let Back to the Future 2 and 3 decide.

You know that “Jedi Temple analysis room” deleted scene from AOTC?

I think it could be used as a sort of replacement of the liberty scene by rearranging shots and masking out the window with a screen.

“Get over violence, madness and death? What else is there?”

Also known as Mr. Liquid Jungle.

That’s an interesting idea! It would be a good way to reuse that footage without having to look at the strange-looking analysis droids.

Has anyone tried replacing the 2D lightsaber blades with 3D-looking ones similar to in the sequel trilogy?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

I would love to see some kind of subtle foreshadowing of the secret clone army being prepared in TPM. Any ideas?

Edit…
I also LOVE this idea:

  1. Kylo isn’t a Sith. Or at least he doesn’t know he is? Unclear.

  2. They’re not red, because he stole them from Jedi. The idea that he has killed many Jedi is a big part of what makes him intimidating at all.

He can use the dark side of the force. That declares him a Sith, but they shouldn’t use that word in the ST or PT. The word Sith was never used in the OT.

It should be a rule that if you join with the dark side of the force it is your destiny to be killed.

Nope.

Why?

Nah, Grievous is a gloriously goofy saturday morning villain. The Star Wars universe has enough badasses as is.

Grievous, for me, just ruins the depiction of Vader in the OT. If Grievous has such advanced cybernetics, why is Vader a lumbering bodybuilder who can barely raise his arms over his head?

The canon can do the “Palpatine evil” explanation all it wants, it still doesn’t make sense to me.

PS. If you have four lightsabers and are fighting Obi-Wan Kenobi - who has only one lightsaber - just attack with all of your lightsabers - from multiple different directions - at once in ways that he can’t parry every single attack.

His four lightsabers are an attempt at compensating for his lack of technique.

Had he not been “trained in the Jedi arts by Count Dooku” - Count Dooku being sword-dueller man - then would he not understand swordsmanship to a degree? You would think he would have thought of trying to make use of his one glaring advantage.

ZkinandBonez shared EC Henry’s newest video over on his video thread.

ZkinandBonez said:

Another fun language analysis video by EC Henry in the same vein as the Learning Ubese video he did a while back.

Learn to Speak Geonosian!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vqsJC4sYig - from the EC Henry YouTube channel (13 mins long).

The blurb:
“Geonosian seems like a strange language with many impossible sounds. But in reality, it’s straightforward and easy to learn. So come and learn so you can understand everything that Poggle the Lesser says!”

In the video, Henry offers some alternative translations based off his analysis of the language. This would be something I would love to implement in a future edit of Attack of the Clones.

What if to preserve the surprise in TESB, Yoda’s name was never used in the PT. The Jedi call him “master” and you never hear his name then when you watch TESB you think Yoda is the name of another Jedi who survived. Then when you see him on Dagobah you think he really will take Luke to see “Yoda”.

You make the mistake of assuming the Prequels should be watched first. Doing so negates their entire purpose.
