Those special effects George doesn’t like won awards. So did the editing. The arrogance of erasing someone else’s award winning work from history is infuriating to me. In the 90’s I was excited at the idea of the Special Editions, and I would likely be more accepting of them now if not for the suppression of the originals. It’s more about that suppression than it is whatever tinkering is done. That’s why I say Star Wars must go back to being about more than George Lucas.
