I just scrolled through this thread, I wanna say about 4 times in a row, and missed the post where someone said what program is used to make the covers look like they're folded around a case. I know someone posted a link SOMEWHERE on this board, I just can't find it.

Could someone help me out? I'd like a set of covers that are identical to the 1990 VHS editions, complete with the CBS/FOX logo on the spine, character icons near the bottom of the spine, and original text on the back. If you could make them match the 4-tape Widescreen hologram box cases that would be perfect! Thanks in advance!!

@ Bizzle: Those are definitely simple, nice, and clean. Very bold. I like them.

General question to everybody: In your DVD rack/shelf/whatever, do you prefer to leave the 2004 DVDs in the box or do you store the box away somewhere? And, in what order do you store all your SW DVDs in?

Here's the order I store mine (from left to right):
Episode 1 (Official)
Episode 2 (Official)
Clone Wars Volume 1 (Official)
Clone Wars Volume 2 (will go here once I can by the official DVD)
Episode 3 (will go here once I can by the official DVD)
Episode 4 (Official in box)
Episode 5 (Official in box)
Episode 6 (Official in box)
Original Trilogy Bonus Material (Official in box)
A Musical Journey (Official disc, but custom case)
Episode 3 (Not Official)
Episode 4 (Cowclops v2)
Episode 5 (Cowclops v2)
Episode 6 (Cowclops v2)
Episode 4 SE (dark_jedi & boba feta, once it gets released)
Episode 5 SE (dark_jedi & boba feta, once it gets released)
Episode 6 SE (dark_jedi & boba feta, once it gets released)
Episode 4 SE (my brother found this in Cambodia a couple years ago)
Episode 6 (my brother found this in Cambodia a couple years ago)

I'm thinking of moving the clone wars discs to after A Musical Journey just to have all the movies together, but that would break the timeline. Who knows what will have to happen when the two TV series come out on DVD.

Decisions, decisions...

I tend to keep only official releases on my dvd shelf (mainly cause i dont have room on my current shelf for all my official discs as it is). After i get my own place i plan on buying a bigger shelf and ill prob use my current shelf for anime and get a new bigger one for official discs. though i may keep anime on the bigger shelf and use the small one for bootlegs/transfers.

I also store my dvds in the order i bought them (with the exception that i keep

as far as what star wars discs I have on my shelf, its currently my Dr. Gonzo set, cause that was the first one i got, and I have them in cases that match the official Ep 1 & 2 discs so they look all pretty on the shelf. My official OT discs are off to the side in the box. Ill prob leave it like that cause I dont like the way the OT cases have silver (or platinum) for widescreen and the PT has gold. I like the all gold.

I can't picture the 1990 VHS set at all.

Do you have any images to go off of?

Bizzle - Aren't those essentially the same covers made by Fatboy Roberts here? It looks like you may have changed the back text ever so slightly, but they look almost identical. I am no fan of his by any means, but I think that the covers should be properly credited.

I apologize if I am wrong about the authorship of these covers.

All I was able to find was this http://cgi.ebay.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-1990-VHS-Collectors-Box-Set_W0QQitemZ6424176408QQcategoryZ309QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Basically they have the classic poster on the front, classic logo on the spines along with a character icon in the lower 3rd (I believe it's Vader for ANH, Yoda for ESB and Wicket for RotJ) plus the usual write-up on the back

I have the tapes but they're in storage so hopefully that's enough to go on. Surely someone has the hologram set that can provide better images for ya.

I never said I made em. As a matter of fact, I posted the original trilogy ones in this thread around page 30 or something and credited "Fatboy Roberts" there. just figured people would remember, that's my bad.

You're no fan of his, huh?

Sorry, I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything. I honestly don't read this thread very often so I didn't know that you had done that. I guess I should have checked it out before I said anything (Keeps mouth shut tightly as foot hovers dangerously close in front of it).

No, not a fan of FB... I did think the covers were kind of cool though.

Decent covers, at least.

Grisan's site is down, couldn't upload any of em. I printed out the original trilogy ones, downloaded Rowman's bonus discs, paired em up with the Editdroid set, and I think that's a pretty good 6 disc set..could even be the standard there, actually. Editdroid + Rowman set.

These covers are so non-descript, though, you can shove anything in em. Edits, re-edits, definitive, faces, anamorphic--no fussing with names and versions. Just slap it in there.

I was wondering, did Rikter make a cover for the LD Demo disc yet? I could have sworn I saw one, but can't find it (I thought it was one of the white ones). How often is the cover torrent updated to include the new ones on here? Also, does it include disc labels along with the covers? I plan to buy some cases and inserts to make covers soon, but at least right now I very much want to make a label for the Demo disc. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone?

@ Bizzle: Very cool covers, I liked your idea a lot. Though I'm wondering what was the font you used for the movie title, it looked a bit too condensed in for my taste. I'm not sure if it's the angle of the covers, or if you shrunk the font or something. It looks a bit odd to me, but maybe that's just me. Great job besides that.

You guys definitely have some talent and each of you should put up portfolio sites to show off your design skills. Are you guys in the graphic design field to begin with, or just do this as a hobby? Might be a new calling if it's just a hobby.

Rik said there was a cover on the DVD. Check the DVD-ROM folder(s) for it.

The Bizzle has just said that he didn't design these covers so he may not be able to tell you you what the font was. That said, if you are referring to the capitalised episode title then I presume it is meant to be quite condensed so that it matches the official crawls, which it is obviously emulating.

Ooh, a laserdisc. The Cheat's playin' something on a laserdisc.
Everything is better on a laserdisc. Whatever happened to the laserdisc? Laserdisc!

those are pretty nice, can we get a shot of them all lined up so we can see how the spine picture looks?
